Raise your master sword,
Face evil in the eye,
let your voice be heard above the choir,
On the final battle,
Fight for your life,
Fight for your world,
Face your time,
Face your destiny.
Zelda MPS 3: The Final Battle is my third installment of my Zelda Symphony. This one obviously takes quite a different tone as it depicts a scene, a battle, quite an epic battle, usually the final battle. If you are familiar with my work, then you might notice a couple of changes in my sound. New 24 channel 24bit mixing desk, A new collection of East West Choirs and Orchestras, which alltogether increases the general sound quality. With such power at the moment, one of my greatest difficulties is actually controlling the signal from the new desk (like peaking levels). But I'm getting there. One thing i'm quite happy with is getting the choir to sing "Zelda" and "TriForce".
Anyways I won't bore you any longer with the details, I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed composing it. This will be the last Zelda one for a couple of months whilst I begin my journey on... Final Fantasy ;3.
A powerfull masterpiece! Maybe bacause of nostalgy, but why didn't you use the flute part in the "silent part"? I miss it as a recognizeable sound, wich is so typical for Zelda..
Deffinately awesome sounds man! Those new EastWest libraries are really workin' for you, eh? Anyway, the composition is great, and I can easily imagine this in some future games. But is there any music styles that you ever want to try but don't feel capable of? You seem to have covered quite a few styles. I have a hard time getting out of metal itself, haha.
x3 Metal or anything guitar based is always a challenge for me because my stuff is primarily keyboard based. One of the hardest instruments to replicate, is the guitar, especially electric.
Yeah, that's probably because a lot of the chords in rock/metal guitar are much more difficult to attempt playing on a keyboard. Even with that, it doesn't usually sound as good. But same goes the other way around I guess.
This reminds me...I was curious if you'd ever tried your hand at anything with a non-Western sensibility to them? I definitely hear influences of other parts of the world at times in your music, but usually the underpinnings are very Western--"normal" chord progressions, spaces between notes, and so on. Have you ever thought of experimenting in this way?
Initially, BEYOND beautiful. I'm not very much into the Zelda franchise (what with being obsessed with Sonic in my early days ) so I can't say I can ultimately appreciate it on the level needed. But the expansiveness of it...very wonderful indeed! Love the changes, it feels like I am in battle...a happy one sort of...with my own mind! lol okay, I am making no sense.
:3 I need to listen to it again because i need a better pair of headphones.
