Of course, some people who have seen the cast page, as of late, may have notice this area of the Staff. Now that we have been starting to fill in those positions, it's only right to explain to everyone.
Basically, Gallery Hosts are Staff members who are specialize in one or more types of art that the site has a gallery for. These staff members will be the front runners for the specific gallery they will host. They will be promote their gallery in multiple ways, as well as, be a resource for other users to watch and learn from their gallery. Some galleries, due to their size and range, will have more than one host or hostess.
After hearing the request of the community, the Gallery Host will be in charge of picking feature art, which will begin soon once more. The Host will pick art from their specific gallery, so please keep this in mind when sending suggestions. Also, realize that there aren't any submissions, a gallery host will not feature anything. Simply put, if a specific type of art is hardly feature, it's the community part to provide some. Essentially, the more art that is submitted to the site, the more option you give to Gallery Host.
More Gallery Host will be added in time as needed. We have been using the applications that were previously submitted and have found several great candidates. While there are great applications on file, we would like to hear from the community. If you have a solid and serious suggestion, please pm with the title "Gallery Host Suggestion". When sending this, include the following: User name, Gallery, Reason. Also, please refrain from suggesting yourself.
All and all, we're listening to everyone and finding ways that can bring the people of the community together and promote the site for a better change.
Nothing was overlooked,
I think he's talking about some extra words in there is all ;p
Like "These staff members are will be the front runners for the specific gallery they will host."
LoL, no worries though.
Your message still came across nicely :)
I don't think grammar was the point of this post anywayz
Thanks to all of you staff peoplez for trying to better SA
Ugh sounds like someone who can't stop being a pain in the ass. The article looks fine to me, thou I can understand well enough, I find it inappropriate to take that town about it. Now to find out how to block people here or at least keep stalkers OFF my profile!
I moved from CA a few months ago. A friend who still lives there said the prop 8 ads were misleading. I haven't taken time to find any online but she said they'd say shit like they'll teach your children about gay marriage in school if you don't vote yes.
Hey, I'm going to hijack this comment thread to address a couple problems that have been bouncing around in the Bugs forum with no resolution, since I've got your attention right now...
The first thing is that comment threads are disappearing into obscurity. There are weird + signs in some of the comment links and threads won't display more than certain number of comments (somewhere between 13-17 has been speculated.)
The other thing is that when attempting to edit journal customizations, people are getting errors or simply being redirected to blank pages upon hitting the "submit" button. Any changes made are ineffective.
The first is being worked on. The second one started with the last server optimization. The company who were go through server reworked something on their end and we're working on trying to recode to adapt.
As was said to me and perhaps a few other people, they can't help it. Sure, some previous running-for-president candidates over the last decade are barely more mature than a 5th grader, but that's just the way it is.
//shrugs// Technically, you work for a "company" that deals with a little money over the internet. Apparently that constitutes some sort of risk. I'm not quite sure why.
But... As the director of a mostly-pathetic writing section?
I doubt I'd be dealing with anything more complex than iambic pentametre.
Or, possibly, I am wrong. I don't know.
No one that I know, but still. I'm sure it will eventually crop up.
It's not so hard to identify... Unstressed, stressed, repeat five times per line, no rhyming.
Ah, you're assuming that I know how to read poetry.
(I know, I know, I know, can't write it if you don't read it...I'm demanding Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson for Christmas, would you recommend any other beginner's poetry?)
Well, I like to read Chaucer, because he can tell a story so well... Canterbury Tales for the Win.
But aside from that, I really like reading Roald Dahl. It's for kids... So what? I loved in then, I love it now.
It doesn't have to be. Either you or me could become a part of the community if age didn't matter, and maturity and a competent knowledge of certain art categories did.
