Seriously, though. I recently got it and although I haven't gotten all too far, I can seriously say that this is the best Gamecube game I've played thus far. Way better than the original even, which up to this point has been my favorite Mario game.

This may seem like a flagrant advertisement, which it may or may not be, but it has lots of new features like an audience that watches and influences your battles, your party members actually have HP, turning into an airplane and other abilities, etc. However, the absolute icing on the Grumblecake of this game is the humor. It is possibly the funniest game I've played since Peasant's Quest. And things happen that I'd expect to only happen in Mario parodies, not actual Mario games! Highlights include: (MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

-Those evil chest guys who give you curses which are actually helpful new abilities

-That dragon Hooktail actually eats audience members to regain health (that part really scared me )

-A shower scene with Peach (no, not explicit) that causes a computer to fall in love with her

-Luigi telling you about his travels and his adventure in the Pudding Continent (I can't tell if he's being truthful or if he's just really hungry.) that would make a pretty good and funny game in itself

-And... aww, I'm giving away too much of the game. Seriously, play it for yourself. It's worth it.

Overall, I'd say this is the Monkey Island of Mario. Great playability, humor, intelligent puzzle design, non-stop action, uh... um... Goombas... yeah. This may be my favorite Gamecube game for a while, at least until the new realistic GCN Zelda game comes out.
