Confused
I'm reading it.

Am I supposed to be this confused?

Guys I am so confused

I spent a couple hours reading it last night and I'm definitely not far when you compare my progress to the actual length of the archives. I just finished Act Two and

I just

what

Hopefully this starts making more sense with the past/future thing soon, because as much as I am enjoying myself, my brain can't handle it.

i hate Homestuck
the fans baww all "IT GETZ BETTOR" and i have heard from multiple people it either takes too long, or it just doesn't get better.
WHAT KIND OF A "GOOD STORY" IS IT IF YOU HAVE TO PASS 4 ACTS TO GET TO "THE GOOD PART" >8(((((((((c

ZioZarode Says:

Not a huge fan. It just does in writing and games (technically) that I hate, and that is slow starts just to get nowhere.

Try to enjoy it, though. Different folks, different strokes.

Vaelarsa Says:

The pacing in HS is slow as shit. I agree.

But it's like one of those movies you have to watch in their entirety to get, I guess. Where everything originally looks confusing, and you're like "WTF. Why is this shit happening?", but then it slowly (VERY slowly) pieces itself together.

Old Roots Says:

Oh man, if you're already this confused now, then you're in for a whole new world of shit.

There's a reason someone drew that picture on my webcam.

JadedEmeralde Says:

Took me two days to read it from beginning to current. I'm still kinda confused, but for some reason I like it anyway.

Jinn Says:

I am a BIG homestuck fan. I mean BIG. And I STILL understand NOTHING. Even hussie, the creator, KNOWS it's confusing. It's why he writes MASSIVE summaries during the comic to clear things up. Even so, it's all pretty epic as long as you get the basics...

But a word to the wise - if you feel that you aren't getting into it, don't force yourself! It's sort of a... "required taste". Like grapefruit or broccoli. Some people love it and some people hate it. Don't feel bad if you can't get into it!

Vanilla Eclair Says:

*picks up Problem Sleuth, Ruby Quest and Prequel Adventure for you* o3o

You should try Prequel Adventure then. Steady-paced story AND you can enter your 'commands' during the latest page. The artist/writer picks out commands that were posted the most and makes it happen in the story (you know, like a real text-adventure game).

I agree with Jinn too :3 Everybody's got different taste =w= We don't expect everyone to like Homestuck, and we promise we won't maul you. I mean, no point getting a headache right? =w=

bruises and muffins Says:

for me, i was confused as well, but i still understand the basics and the relationships because i still read it all the time. it's going to take a long time to read because it finally has reached over 6,000 pages and although it seems like a long way, once you buckle down adn stop trying to look and understand it fully, you understand it without understanding it.

and then you realize what a fun story it is, because you can understand it without understanding it, i realized a lot of people who tried reading it and didn't like it didn't like it because they didn't understand and found it boring, but they didn't realize, if you just read it and not try to look too deep into it, then you enjoy it.

read it all the way through (i skipped some of the pesterlogs) well not all teh way but until you get to the "good part" (there really isn't one good part but thats jsut me :U) and stuff, also what might help is to not read the summaries. i never did and although im a bit confused, i get people who do understand it to explain it to me (only had that happen ONCE though cause i was too lazy to read the end of act 5 flash tumblr post)

MysteryFlavour Says:

Its fantastic isn't it!? And once you think you know whats going on you find out that you don't?

THEN YOU DO?

Its so amazing...

Also just don't skip ahead if you get headaches. Just sayin' A lot of people do when they get confused and then they are even more confused when a part explains the previous part you skipped
