Do you all remember that Airfix Spitfire in this journal? If not read it now.

I just finished watching the second episode of the series - plasticine! James May decided this time to create a garden for the Chelsea Royal Flower Show for the Royal Horticultural Society - the pinnacle of the gardening world.

With the help of 1000s of the general public including school children, sushi chefs, cake makers, women from a Hindu temple and veterans of the wars he made this: Paradise in Plasticine.

The general public and the school children made the majority of the flowers. The sushi chefs made the sushi picnic with the cake makers, well, making the cakes. The women from the temple made the beautiful garland on the door and finally the veterans made the poppies at the base of the bust of the creator/inventor of plasticine. ^^

Due to the fact that the garden didn't have any "real flowers" according to the judges the garden was immediately docked 30% and ended up - by the Show's rules not winning a medal at all.

But in the end, they showed their appreciation for it all and did end up giving him a gold medal for his garden...

...made especially over night - in plasticine of course!

In addition to all that:

What a wonderful thing. For so many people to come together to create a great and, if you'll forgive the sickly sweetness, truly joyful garden.
