I want talk about my friend here a little.
My friends name was Bailey Sloan.

I first met Bailey in “smart kid” summer school right before our freshman year of high school. The first time I noticed her was when she was late and then her cell went off, the teacher picked on her a bit. Then the next time I had to ask her how to use a camera for our second period class.
I have to say that these first encounters I had no idea she was so crazy cool lol.
Our friendship started on the first day of highs school, she was in my PE class with Mercedes, my sister, and I. She was so funny! Every day I looked forward to this class. Then she started hanging out with our group over by our Gum Tree. We had a tree we stood by that slowly became covered in gum. Bailey was such a good friend she joined golf and softball with my sister and I. So for the first two years of high school we were close.
It always made me happy to see her. In junior year our groups separated. I wanted to hang out with her and her friends because they were so fun. But I was afraid of being that friend that everyone enjoyed but got tired of bugging them and their group. I wish I would have hung out with them more. But we still talked in our AP classes.
I know now that true friends don’t think that way of you and I know she was a true friend.
I have the funniest memories of her.
While golfing one day we saw a squirrel and as soon as we all said awe a hawk came out of nowhere and was attacking the squirrel on the cart path. Bailey ran over with a golf club raised up in the air trying to get the hawk off the little creature.
Another time at the driving range she swung her club back so hard that the thing went about 20 ft in the air. It landed about four feet away.
At the putting green we were always fucking around. I know she loved to get a raise out of my sister and I.
At softball practice for the HS she was playing first and she didn’t turn around in time to see the ball hit her in the head. There was the loudest thud, almost as if her head was empty.
At a sleep over party, we hung out, jumped on the trampoline, played with the animals, and talked all night. My sister and her were riding a horse bear back lol.
I love the movie SAVED! Because of her.
There are so many little things that I remember about her. I will remember her always.

If I could fave a journal, I would. This was a great remembrance of your friend.

All too often, I think people that experience deaths of loved ones want to go around and mope, nothing more. This is a great example of what you should be doing. Remembering good times together.
