The Annoyingly Personal Quiz

Answer these questions as honestly as possible, it defeats the whole reason in doing this if you don’t. This is a quiz to let others learn things about you that might not come up in every day conversation but are still interesting to share.

Personal:

1. Describe yourself on a personal level.

I think I'm a very passionate person, with my feet helpfully grounded by my other half. [The Boy] I'm compassionate, generous, imaginative, curious, inquisitive, strong willed, stubborn, a little lazy, procrastinator extraordinaire, and once upon a time I was very pushy...but I think that's been in control for a long time..but it still occasionally rears it's ugly head. :)

2. Now spiritual

I am very spiritual but I do not believe in any one religion. They all have their good points and their bad points, their rights and their wrongs. I believe that connection to spirituality is unique as the person that feels it. I have no right to tell someone else they're wrong for believing what they do...nor does anyone have the right to tell me I'm wrong. I believe we're all connected through such a force (by all I mean nature, earth, animals, people, ect) and we each play whatever role in it we're meant to. To some this seems like a very sketchy answer...but trust me it's not..and it took me a long time to come to this. Shaking one's Christian upbringing is not easy.

3. And lastly, physical.

I'm fairly tall, long limbed, thin but I couldn't wear "skinny jeans" ever in my life if I even wanted to (btw I think they're hideous anyway). I have a little bit of "squish" [as the boy phrases it] here and there...butt, thighs, and my little muffin top [or love handles]...but I've no real desire to change that...at all.

4. Have you ever lied about any of these to other people when asked about yourself?

What is the point of lying about what you look like? What is the point of lying about your personality or spiritual beliefs? Why would you ever want to obscure who you are to make someone else like you? That's just a horrible basis for a friendship.

5. If so, which one (ones)?
N/A

6. Do you have a different face for different situations? (outgoing around friends, intensely introverted around strangers, etc)

I would say definitely. In public I am generally quiet and observational. I people watch a lot. It's amusing.

When at work I have a few faces I present to various customers. Most of the time I'm very sweet and go over the top and out of my way to make someone's day. However, if a customer approaches and is not phased by my cheer, I am quick and to the point just to get them out of there as I'm sure they'd prefer anyway.

In the presence of my loved ones I am who I am. All the good and bad that goes with a unique personality. My friends know me well enough to know why I am the way I am...good or bad...and are accepting regardless...this is why they're my friends. :) Family..I'm a little more cautious and considerate as to not step on toes.

7. How do you feel the most comfortable when communicating? In person, online, over the phone, etc.

I am very much an in person kind of person. I read into body language and expressions when talking with people...and I feel mine convey more than my words ever could. I don't mind trying to express myself over other forms of communication..but my wording can often be read the wrong way.

8. Is there someone you speak to on a regular basic that you secretly hate?

No. I refuse to keep a negative source in my life when I can help it. Things like that bring out the worst in me...and for myself and for others...I avoid it at all cost.

9. Is there someone you speak to o a regular basics that you secretly love?

Secretly? No. I think everyone that I love knows I love them.

10. How well do you accept and love yourself?

I think I have a few problems with the way I sometimes handle various things. Sometimes I let my passionate nature burn me...but my overall outlook and attitude generally logically argues my emotional side...and logic almost always wins. Even still I love myself for who I am. I try very hard to be the best person I can be...but accept that I'm only human.

Mental:

1. Have you ever had an IQ test done? If so, how did you score? If not, where would you place yourself? Average, gifted, etc?

I haven't. No idea what it'd be...

2. Are you a visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic learner?

I am kinesthetic and then visual. I am very much hands on before anything else. If I can do something with my hands I'm more likely to retain that information. Visual paired with kinesthetic is optimal.

3. What was your approximate average in school until High School?

LOL Uhm...I had A's B's C's and F's...not usually the F's but occasionally. If I class was a reading/writing type class I did okay...but things like math and chemistry if not taught in a way that I could understand...I did very poorly. Math is the hardest thing for me...my brain doesn't function that way.

4. After High School?

A's. When I did go to college it was geared towards people that think like I do. So I did great...even in classes where 95% of the students never made an A as hard as they may have tried (or perhaps not). I attribute that to the way things were taught though...right up my alley.

5. In college? (if you have not attended, leave this blank)

Read above.

6. Do you feel education and IQ tests are a proper estimation of people’s intellect?

Yes and no. Especially for someone like myself who is very excelled in some aspects but severely lacking in others. If not presented or asked in the right way...I may not answer correctly...but if presented in a way that my brain understands..I have no trouble. So I don't think it's not that someone like me doesn't KNOW the answer...you have to understand what's being asked first.

7. What thought processes do you excel at? (problem solving, analyzing, creating new ideas, etc)

Hmm. I can be very analytical when I chose to be. Creativity and problem solving are some of my favorite things though. Thinking outside the box to achieve something desired but by someone with a more closed mind...can't obtain or achieve.

8. What is the first assignment in school that you felt intelligent upon completion of?

Hmm...coloring in a valentine's day coloring page....I shaded and highlighted and used a color scheme that was harmonious (though at the time those big words were not in my vocabulary) I still remember what it looked like too.

9. What assignment was the biggest disappointment upon completion?

AP Biology. I LOVED it when we did all the hands on stuff..but all of the book work I failed so miserably at hurt. Even my teacher at the time understood exactly why I struggled so much..but couldn't change the course to suit just me of course :). He then talked my mom (also a teacher) into letting me Audit the class...so I wouldn't get failing grades...and so I could still enjoy the hands on...which he knew I learned so much from.

10. Do you feel as though your intellect is wasted?

Occasionally. I want the feel the challenge of creating again. I wish I knew how to give myself that challenge.

Creativity:

1. What creative medium do you excel at?

Watercolor. I seem to grasp the concept of color in transparency more than opacity.

2. What do you wish you were better at and why does it appeal to you?

I wish I were better at opaque mediums. Perhaps one day I'll get my butt into a painting class and learn. I fully intend to. It appeals to me because watercolor cannot convey some of the more ....opaque ideas I have. It's the only word that would come to mind. I realize it's redundant. :)

3. Do you have a good grasp on the foundations of your favorite creative outlet?

Somewhat...but if any artist does then they need to deflate their ego a little.

4. What book, method, program, style, etc has helped you grow the most in your creativity?

Experimentation, the constant thirst for viewing artwork and trying to understand how the artist obtained certain looks, gathering tutorials and other information favorite artists have given.

I say experimentation because it is so much fun to go through various household chemicals or textures with watercolor.

5. Do you envy others in the arts?

Of course. :)

6. Do you hate others for their style/interpretations of the arts?

I think sometimes I get a little annoyed with someone's representation of a subject...but hate is such a strong word.

7. Do you have confidence in your own talent?

I have a healthy amount to keep me moving I think. It's pretty consistent. Sometimes it takes a dive when I get frustrated...but I realize it's only frustration and perhaps something blocking me from obtaining the level of state of mind one needs to be in to create.

8. Have you ever been accused of being arrogant about your talent?

About my talent? No...not that I know of.

9. Were you?

I think I have been on occasion...I dislike being criticized by people that don't appear to apply their own criticism to their art....if that makes sense. Otherwise I try to take it in...it's that stubborn nature that gets me on occasion...but I try to make it behave.

10. Do you feel your creations will leave a mark upon the world after your death?

No idea. Anything can happen.

Entertainment:

1. What are the strangest films you have ever watched?

City of Lost Children, Tideland, The Hills Have Eyes, Little Miss Sunshine, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lady in the Water.

2. What were the worst?

Oh man...I'm easily entertained so if I don't like a movie it's pretty bad. Daredevil, The Day after Tomorrow, American Pie (or any other retarded movie in the genre).

3. What were the best?

This... would be a very long list. Equilibrium, The Boondock Saints, LotR, Hannibal series (especially Hannibal Rising..a very pleasant surprise), The Dark Knight, Tombstone, Lady in the Water, Ghostbusters, Ironman, The Iron Giant, Wall-E, The Land Before Time, The Labyrinth, Never Ending Story, The Princess Bride, The Green Mile, Seven Pounds, Seriously this list could go on forever...and with continual random genres.

4. What music seems to be the music of your life?

I connect very deeply with music. So...a lot. Off the top of my head though some of the most meaningful songs:

Classical Gas [Mason Williams] , Sultans of Swing [Dire Straits], Roundabout [Yes], Nothing Else Matters [Metallica], Where the Wild Things Are [Metallica], The Unforgiven & The Unforgiven II [Metallica], Outlaw Torn [Metallica], Wish You Were Here [Pink Floyd], Comfortably Numb [Pink Floyd], Unputdownable [De/Vision], Dress Me When I Bleed [De/Vision], Arena [VNV Nation], Carry You [VNV Nation], Lastlight [VNV Nation], Endless Skies [VNV Nation], Perpetual [ VNV Nation], Precipice [VNV Nation], Sentinel [VNV Nation], Standing [VNV Nation].

VNV Nation is in there a lot for a gooooood reason....and there are a lot more than those above.

5. Do you watch tv? If so, favorite shows?

I don't watch TV. I get TV series of interest from Netflix..and if I like them enough I buy them. Ones we own are Seinfeld, Friends, The X-Files, and upcoming will probably be Family Guy and Mythbusters.

6. Are you a gamer? If so, what games?

I would say so. Maybe not as much as some but I think I play enough to consider myself so.

Past: Mario games of all sorts, Megaman, Tomb Raider, Diablo, Diablo II, Soul Calibur, Portal.
Present: World of Warcraft, Aion, Left 4 Dead, Bioshock, Fable II, GTA, Sims 3.

7. Social outings, are you a social butterfly or wall flower?

Wall flower. I can be social but really only with people I think I'll connect with...and those types of people are generally not very social...for the same reasons I am.

8. Do you like parties?

Do LAN Parties count? Never actually DONE one...but I would greatly enjoy it...I know that.

Otherwise...No...not in the college kid sense of I have to get as many people in one place as I can..even if I have no idea who they are. Getting together with a handful of friends to go to Dave and Buster's or something is totally acceptable.

9. Do you stay at home?

Most of the time..but I do have a need to get out and do things.

10. What entertainment makes you the happiest?

Gaming, watching movies, reading, sketching, ...with or without others around. Both are awesome.

Grab Bag Random Questions:

1. Do you have any gross habits?

Hmm...I dunno about gross...I guess if you considered my need to do sinus rinses and put neosporin up my nose a lot gross..then..yeah. :) I have severe nosebleeds a lot...both of the above mentioned help prevent them.

2. Are you a random gift giver?

Yes. I looooove random gifts. Giving and receiving. It's always nice to know someone thought about you...at random..not because it was your birthday or christmas or anything..but at random. Awesome.

3. Do you have pets?

We have two kitties. Peekaboo and Xora.

4. Are you a pervert?
I dunno that I'd call it perversion..but I am extremely sexual..but I don't consider it sinful or wrong.

5. Do you have a hobby others consider nerdy?

Yup. =D Proud of it too.

6. Have you ever seen a dead body?

...I've been to my share of funerals. After my dad's funeral I think I'm done. I don't like them....and I do not need the closure the ceremony provides for some people.

7. Have you ever been to another country?

Mexico and Germany

8. Do you hate the world?

No. I dislike some of the actions of humanity...but no.

9. Is there someone you want to tell everything about yourself to?
