This is a big deal for me. When I first got a guitar on Christmas of last year I, in no way, ever expected to reaaaly get good at it. I'd had a bass since September so, I knew my way around a fretboard. Really I only wanted a guitar because, at the time, I was trying to put guitar parts in my otherwise electronically oriented songs. Usually background stuff, that is to say: rhythm. Most attempts were ok, but had never and would never be as good as having an actual guitar.

Check the date, made literally a week after I got the guitar. I didn't even multi-track the damn thing. But that was also the last track I ever made with a guitar that had a lean line in it. Let alone a solo.
I'm just a little astounded by my progress. It took me maybe 7 years with the piano to get to the skill level I've reached with the guitar (Admittedly the experience with the piano and music in general likely streamlined the whole process).
Oh and you know what I can do on a guitar that I could never do on a piano? Improvise. That's pretty big, for me.

And there was much rejoicing.

Alloy ... your the man! I am astounded that you've only played guitar this long and made such a progression. Don't put it down. Good luck with the drums too
