Here I am after a long day I came home, I ate and I decided to write this journal before I went to bed. I turned Katana on and I got this weird error…something about could not load windows…anyway I sign on and all my icons on my desktop are empty. In fact the desktop itself is empty. This program pops up [“Security Tool”] and tells me some computer is trying to get my credit card information. Two things came to mind. One: I never authorized this program to be installed. And two: I don’t even own a credit card. Instantly I thought “TROJAN HORSE.” It kept nagging that my computer was unprotected and that I had worms and viruses and cookies galore! It also kept nagging that I had to sign up for virus protection. Now from memory I remember my friend Jackie telling me about a program that disguised itself as an anti virus program and completely destroyed her computer. And from Father Anderson [nickname for my computer science professor] taught us about viruses, worms, and Trojans. Now Trojan horses camouflage themselves as other programs and are not self propagating or self replicating, so they cannot do anything unless you allow them to by say letting this “Security tool” to activate. So I went to the security panel and to the add/ remove programs because I wasn’t going to let myself be outsmarted by a malicious program. Fancy that, add/remove programs wouldn’t come up, just security tool trying to distract me from the fact it was trying to disembowel my motherboard. So I’m like “Hmmmmmmmmmm…it doesn’t like that huh?” so then I went to my computer and tried to hunt it down there and low and behold, it masked itself so I couldn’t find it. Another error message popped up and I traced the error back to the site of where this ‘program’ was and it wasn’t in a matching named folder like all my other programs. So then I cry out “HA TROJAN. I HAVE YOU NOW.” I left clicked pressed on scan with Panda Internet security [REAL anti virus] and bam Trojan found. Clicked on another folder that contained the previous error and bam another one. I feel amazing. I outsmarted a computer and a program. I feel INVINCIBLE.

YAY FOR COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE!

So if you see that there is a strange new program on your computer that you don’t remember to save your life that you installed, don’t trust it. Trojans are sneaky bastards, but they’re just programs and they’re stupid and make obvious errors in their mask. Like how it said credit card information was being sent. I don’t have one you stupid program. So as we speak I am running a complete scan on the whole computer to make sure that’s all. Katana is working a lot better now that I neutralized the hell out of that Trojan horse. But I am still worried she’s still infected. I got worried at first but I gathered my strength and kicked Trojan ass. >

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if this journal sounded cocky. I feel a LOT better than the last entry. After crying for 2 and a half hours, talking some, a bit of therapeutic drawing, and some good old RP with my friend WolvenClaw, I’ve got my spring in my step again, my sanity back and most importantly, my courage.
