I’ve temporarily moved over to DA for the time being.
SA started out being the alternative to DA. It was smaller, more tightly knit, and actually much more friendly than DA was. But over the years that has changed considerably. Trolls are much more frequent here, the attitude of the community is more negative, and a series of updates which slowed down the site and filled it with bugs has made SA go down in the world. Meanwhile, DA cleaned itself up considerably. I see far less trolls there, the people actually offer legitimate critiques, and the overall atmosphere is more pleasant. It’s still not perfect, but right now it’s better than SA.
A series of art thefts of my work has forced me into a position I didn’t want to do, which is adding a blatant watermark to all of my work. While I do have my name watermarked on all of my art, it’s not usually in a prominent place to detract art theft. DA allows me to add a watermark with the click of a button, saving me from having to re-open and edit over 6 years of artwork. SA unfortunately does not have that feature. I couldn’t reconcile having my work up in two separate places, where one was protected and the other wasn’t. So to save myself a lot of trouble, I’ve put all of my art here into storage (with the exception of my featured work, which will rotate from time to time).
I’m going to remain on DA for the most part. I still come by here to check up on the site and to make sure no trolls spam up my pages or anything. Maybe down the road when I start watermarking my own work I’ll post some work here again... but I dunno when that will be. I’m going to hope that somehow this new subscription method SA is trying to achieve will help them fix up this site. I really do love SA more than DA. I got my first big break here and I have made a lot of friends. But until SA starts to once again rival DA the way it did back in the day, I’m gonna host my stuff on DA.

I switched over to SA from DA just recently.
I think SA is still very tightly knit,
but there are way too many trolls to give this place a friendly atmosphere.
As for art theft,
someone really ought to suggest the idea of watermarks to ChannelCat.
I'm surprised someone hasn't already.
Watermarks might not look the best,
but they'll keep thiefs away for sure.
I think I'm already watching you on DA,
but I'll check it out anyways.

I've always preferred DA over SA. The only reason I'm on SA is because it allows music submissions and DA doesn't. SA was a great site a few years back but DA quickly surpassed it again. The most recent update to DA is amazing, the most user-friendly interactive site I've ever come across.
