Sheezyart is now accepting subscriptions. Wonderful. Rather than fix the bugs from the last several updates, we now get to pay for it! yipee! I don’t need to pay for ad free browsing because I use an ad blocker in FireFox. Works just as well. I don’t give a crap about kiribans. The only thing worth my interest is the drawing of comments... but given how crappy it is just to TYPE a comment on SA now, I seriously don’t think that this is going to work very well or be very intuitive.

Ever since the update my fanbase here has dwindled considerably, whereas my DA fanbase has tripled. I just don’t get as many people commenting and favoriting here as I do there. And a lot of the times, the comments that I get here are more immature and rude and I have to delete them.

I do like SheezyArt. I have a special place in my heart for this site because it’s through SA that my pirate characters got so popular. However, the general atmosphere of snarky haters, the piles upon piles of bugs in the design, the slowness it takes to type comments for me, the fact I have no privacy features which DA offers for free, and other minor things have made me question if I should even continue to post here anymore.

The final straw was that a news site used my Miyazaki picture without permission for a segment they were doing about his new movie. Because art theft is so prevalent for me, I am adding watermarks to all of my work on DA. I cannot do that here unless I make the watermark myself and re-upload every single picture. I am not doing that. And I am also not gonna let it just sit around while one site is protected and the other is not.

So I guess what I’m getting at is... I think I’m done with SA. They’re more trouble than they are worth. I’m gonna miss being on the frontpage a lot, and from the many good comments that I get from people here, and especially the look of my page (which is more pleasant than DA’s bland green). But the cons outway the pros.

I’m gonna start taking my stuff down from here gradually. I’m not gonna just “up and leave” and never come back. I’m gonna keep my account open because I want to hope that SA will “smarten up” eventually. If ever there comes a time when they become more efficient than DA again, I’ll gladly return. But for now, you can find all of my work on DA. So please, come visit me there.

My DA account is http://tompreston.deviantart.com

Sorry SA... I’m just done with you...

Mr Adventure Says:

This journal is glitching up badly.

Gamertomas Says:

What the...why are there squares where "'" should be? And people are going to pay for stuff like that?

Jojora Says:

Well, the fixed the one where a blank window'd tab would appear after submitting a comment.

ProudOne Says:

It's sad but understandable that you're leaving. Hope to see you soon-ish :3

I hope that with thew additional money, Sheezy might be able to buy better servers relieving the traffic a little resulting in less errors. FA has gone through this, too.

Chaos Lord Carron Says:

(I find the Subscriptions good.
Because without it, then you won't be able to private journals and art.
And I'm sure the butthurt fag's moms won't let them spend their money on some stupid art site.
And like ProudOne said, this is good for Sheezy. Sheezy needs money to keep going. Sheezy needs money so they can keep the site up and fix the bugs)

MasterPalooza Says:

Shame to see you go, I'll be sure to keep track of your work on DeviantArt though.

Spencer Says:

It's not an either/or situation. SheezyArt lost it's hosting for over a day because the advertisements were not performing enough to cover expenses. We needed to act.

So, if you wanted us to address bugs instead of find a way to keep the site alive, I suppose that's your personal preference. We would have a bug free final month, and all the work on bug fixing would have been wasted after that.

CC actually worked on comments, just before the release of subscriptions and made several changes to the code that seem much faster and more reliable to me. Are they still not working for you? If not, can you explain specifically what is happening?

Running around screaming "BUGS" just doesn't cut it anymore. What bugs? I'm not denying that there are bugs, I just hope that intelligent and mature members like yourself could comprehend that in order to fix problems we need to be pointed in the right direction.

And now you're leaving. Again that's your personal preference. But what I'd really like to outline in the whole ordeal is that you, TomPreston on SheezyArt, haven't lost a single thing that you had before the subscriptions were released. Perhaps it's me, but I do not see why us keeping the boat afloat is so insulting to you.

Bugs and glitches will be taken care of. I'm sorry it wasn't in your time-frame. I wish you success wherever you plan to stay.

Channel Cat Says:

1. I changed the comments system a week ago, just for you.
2. dA does not offer privacy features.
3. You can still make art and journals private. You just cannot share them with other members.

Ceilidh of One Says:

Dawww. Well, I am watching you on DA, but I don't really feel connected to DA much. I go to SA more often.

Sharpy Says:

So you're leaving because of watermarks, a comment box that seems to be more your computers problem then the sites, critics and a subscription that no-one is forcing you to pay?

Well ok then.
