Strangely enough this is a true story that happened to me yesterday.
Being fairly ill, I had to stay home from a family function. Seeming all at once at about 3:30 pm, my cable died, my radio went on the fritz (see: silent hill), all of my buddies signed off of aim, and I instantly felt 110% better. Thinking nothing of it I sat and tried to finish off season 4 of rescue me, seeing as I had nothing better to do. After a few hours I started to get a little lonely, so I made some calls, and sent out a few texts...and received nothing back. Nobody picked up, and nobody responded to my texts.
At this point I got a little worried, of all people I could call my mother never fails to call me back, or take more than a few minutes to shoot me back a text. I got nothing from her or my father despite many many attempts to reach them.
It was then I noticed, it was solid silence outside. I live a stones throw from Lake Shore Drive in Chicago...that is NEVER quiet. This is went I started thinking, "Am I dead?" I sat there on my bed, with Rescue Me playing in the background, wondering if this was it. Was I cut off from everyone? After a few hours of this (around 10:30 pm) everything sprung back to life. My radio cleared up, my cable started again, my buddy list repopulated, and I received texts from everyone I sent them out to, and got a call back from my mom.
