So yeah...I should be finishing up my english paper right now...
But I'm not.
Not at all.
Anyways, epic happiness. I've decided that I'm going to try and take up taxidermy and make some of my own mounts. I ordered a couple of pelt stretchers for foxes off of EBAY yesterday and they will be here on Monday. I'm going start off with a couple of scrap fox pelts for practice and then try to move on to something more serious. I have an Australian Dingo pelt that's taxidermy ready, meaning his ears are already turned and lips are split. I'm going to try to turn him into a rug mount. You know like the big bear rugs with the 3D heads and the snarly faces...yeah, something like that. I bought this Dingo pelt a while ago at a random little store filled with shit in the middle of the country...and he's just been hanging up in my closet. So I'm going to try to make something out of him. I just want to make sure I don't screw him up because Dingo pelts are so rediculously rare it's not even funny.
I got all inspired to do it after I got Theo out of the taxidermy...and now even more so because I commissioned a taxidermist to make me a plush fox out of a cross fox pelt. She makes beautiful plush taxidermy animals. If you're interested in looking at her work you should check out her DA account at http://www.foxycreations.deviantart.com
I paid 300 dollars for the fox I'm having made by her, but they are stunning and worth it. You should drop her a comment and tell her I sent you.
I'm hoping I can work my hand into doing good taxidermy animals.
In other news, I quit my vet job...the allergist said it would be the best thing do so that I don't have another reation to whatever chemical that nearly killed me last time. I already have another job, I had my first day of work there today. It's a little beauty supply company. It's just a job...but the people there all seem very friendly, which is very different from my other job where they were all so close knit to one another I kind of felt left out. But whatever, I didn't care much, I just did my work and minded my own business.
Anyways...short little update for now. Toodles!
