Hell yeah, I got a phonecall 10 mins ago confirming that tomorrow the schools will also officially be closed. What does this mean for our hero? It means I get another day off with full pay and get to play in the snow some more - oh yes, it is a good week indeed!

I've been giving LOST MAGIC for the DS a try, it was an early RPG title that makes a lot of use of the stylus to draw symbols in order to cast spells. It's also got a fun monster capturing side to it and an interesting tactical approach to combat - not bad for one of the first attempts to get to grips with the system. The learning curve appears to be quite sharp however, moving from 'beat them all on your own' to 'needs a full party to even attempt it with the harsh time limit and enemy monsters' and may explain why I managed to pick it up for a fiver, lol.

Has anybody played 'Etrian Odyssey' out there? It looks interesting but I can't be sure if it's worth a buy.

The snow hit REALLY badly here! Its like 25-30cm and its been snowing all day!

There was even a freak weather storm last night (lighting and snow?????)

I think the UK is going to have an apocalypse soon...

Lost Magic is an awesome game and I'm glad I bought it. I'm not a big fan of micromanagement but I can easily pull it off in that game. The only missions where I've had time issues are the bosses (You REALLY have to one-two punch them) and "rush" missions where you got under a minute to run. Strategy and Tactics I got into for sure.

There's "Etrian Odyssey 2" out as well, and I've only played that. As most reviews would say, it's for the hardcore. Grinding, grinding and grinding are going to be what makes your day in that game. For the most part the battles aren't too fancy in graphics, and stronger enemies will have you grasping for luck as they one-hit your casters/medic. On the bright side, characters are easily customized to your playing style and the fact you get many player slots will allow a good variety of strategies - at the price of even more grinding.

I guess one way to determine how much you'd get into it would be to play a demo of "Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol", because like it, EO/EOII will keep you on the first floor for a while just levelling up.

Oh yay! You got to stay home!
