ARGH!!!

*sigh*

Hey guys. Just wanted to write up a journal about things...that...and I need a little help.

A little background first:

-The character I made in Rock Band as actually inspired me to draw again.

-I received a sketchbook and a lovely case of colored pencils for Christmas by my sister.

-Street Fighter Collab on Newgrounds.

-Flash Artists (such as Ego, Dan Paladin, Kirbopher, and Pierre Jackson) inspired me to get animating again.

-Collete and Niero from Destructoid is actually anticipating what I'm going to do next in Flash.

-I've actually been hired to work on 2 websites...but not getting paid for it. Hey, it's for my uncle and my friends. I'm doing the fancy animating logos and menus and junk.

--------------------------------

Now...I'm in a bit of a jam....a serious jam.

It's been a VERY...VERY...long time I have ever began getting serious in getting back to drawing and animating (Serious wise. Bobbleninja was just for shits and giggles).

I got horrifically sloppy...my style seems...outdated...and it feels like whatever I put on paper is like I'm shitting from my fingers...

I seriously need some help in terms of anatomy, facial structures, eyes, and pretty much...EVERYTHING! Figure drawings, textures, and more. So many freakin things...it's driving me crazy.

Even animating is giving me some trouble. I really want to get back to what I originally came to this website to do...and that's to create art and animate good shit...but looking back at the animations I've done...they're garbage!

I just need some help...if you guys can suggest the following:

-What books I can get to help with what I mentioned above (how to animate better and how to improve in human anatomy)?

-What websites I can go to?

-To the animators and artists who watch me, any tips?

-Who can I go to?

-Where can I go to?

-Tools?

Any bit of advice who be greatly appreciated. You can respond on this journal, send me a PM, e-mail me, hit me up on Skype, MSN, or AOL, or send me a message through Xbox Live. Any bit of help from you guys will greatly help.

I just want to get back on track of things.

*taps blue colored pencil on sketchbook*

In the meantime...I'll just draw little doodles and junk.

Bleh.

Ex out.

The animator's survival kit is godly. There are some good flash specific ones... But that is the essential animation of any kind book. You should be able to torrent it too. And I'm betting a quick search of animation book torrents will come up with a bunch of cool stuff.
Googling flash tutorials will take you to the common tutorial sites (can't remember off the top of my head).
And my head isn't working enough to be more helpful.

I think www.biteycastle.com might have a few animation tips somewhere. If you wanna get good at drawing I suggest you splash for a tablet if you haven't already.
It helps to remember easing and overshoot, whether you're tweening or fbfing.

The books I have are:
The Animator's Survival Kit, by Richard Williams
Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life, by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas (two of Disney's Nine Old Men)
Cartoon Animation, by Prestion Blair

These are all books that professional animators use apparently.

A good tutorial site I always used was cartoonsmart.com, though I don't know if it'll have anything you're looking for.

Hope that helps

These guys above me got the idea on animation and anatomy help.

But you'll also need someone to give their input too. I'll critique your work for ya! Just give me an IM, a text, a skype call, or whatever! =3
