But I'm now on Vista.

My reason for this was that my copy of Team Fortress 2 recently crashed, taking my PC with it. Upon reboot I faced numerous blue screens, marking the end of my precious XP install.

Thankfully I back up all of my work on a regular basis, meaning I've lost diddly squat. However, I left my XP install disc at home, meaning my only legal option was to get the OEM Vista build from the University (one of the perks of the course).

So far I've been pleasantly surprised, the fact I booted up with all of my hardware drivers in place was a fresh breath of air, saving me having to root through two stacks of driver discs.

So now it's just a case of getting all of my software back, which should be a right riot.

HAHAHA VISTA. YOU HAVE NO IDEA

Well, actually I think people make it out worse then it really is. There maybe a few things annoying about it but nothing al that worthy of mass complaint. None that I've had anyways.

Spy sappin' your X P?

Sinoc Says:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Vista at all, its just the people who refuse to upgrade that go around saying its awful, when its really not. It was buggy in the beginning but ever since service pack 1, its been stable for me xP And the driver thing is a plus, since Vista supports pretty much everything without needing driver disks.

Katasaki Says:

I don't like vista, operating-wise.

But when it's looks, Fucking. Sexy.

As a fellow Vista user, I'll tell you this. That breath of fresh air is very nice, but like a breath it doesn't last too long. I for one have had none of the other Vista problems that people get. But I have reinstalled Vista countless times because Windows Update has a tendency to stop working for me after a few weeks. That wouldn't be so bad if at the same time it didn't kill my removable disc drives. For some reason, it doesn't read what's in them.

So I hope it works out for you, I'm waiting for Windows 7 to come out next year.

Prototype Says:

SP1 apparently fixed several of Vista's problems, especially the gaming ones.
