4 Days until I hit 17. Yay...
Also, today, my brother left to go to the army. Now...keep in mind that me and my brother have had a rough background, and it was sometimes hard for us to get along. But, today...when I gave him a hug and watched him walk out the door...I couldn't believe that he's gone.
I actually started to cry. Now, it's been a good couple of years since I became even teary eyed, but this just tampered with the waterworks. He'll be out of bootcamp by the time Christmas comes around, and then he leaves again for...I don't know how long. So...if you could, pray for my brother that he'll be in good health while in the service.

I understand how you feel with someone working in the service (or military in my case.) My dad is now retired and is working in Naval reserves here in my town but he's been in the service since way before I was born. There were a couple of times in my life where he left to go someplace else for who knows how long (NOT Afganistan or Iraq, thank God) and I missed him a lot. As well there are the points of my life where he got posted somewhere else and we had to move.
But the main point is, I truly understand how you feel.
