Haha, this is me adding to the blitz of journal entries on your updates page commenting on SA's decision to stop accepting adult materials.
Personally, I'm not particularly bothered about the policy change. It's the admins' right to decide what does and does not go on their site. It's not exactly like I or any other artist with material on the site is part of a paying userbase, so the options for those outraged with the impending absence of rampant spurty-squishy action are (a) cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it, or (b) tear down your gallery in a fit of pique, storm out and go elsewhere for your wanton pr0n-uploading needs. Because you can piss and moan all you like, but I somehow doubt that it'll make much difference in the end. If you think that
any privately-run online forum is a democracy, your naivety is touching, but misguided. n_n
In any case, I'm far more interested in the silliness and drama this decision has kicked up. Lo, the populace of SheezyArt is verily a cup that runneth over with sputtering fury and righteous indignation. X)
Also, please feel completely welcome to explain why my above opinion is mistaken and actually it's your
inalienable God-given right to post scadloads of h0tt h0tt furry pr0n and slashfics galore on this
free online gallery. I'm interested in your point of view.

I'm not bothered by the killing-of-teh-pr0n, I'm bothered by how immature people are acting over the loss of it.
Hell, I couldn't even see any of the Adult stuff until about 2 days ago (I turned 18), and now that I have seen it, I could really give a damn if they nuke it.
Only thing that's bothering me is the loss of so many "good" artists that decided to nuke thier accounts and leave the site, whether they be "furry", "anime" or whatever. Art is art.
jcterminal Says:
i agree.
Azzua Says:
Lolzors. I agree with you, but I still understand people's dissatisfaction.. Especially people who's art is mostly naked stuff or whatever that they can't upload now. I dunno, I'd be kind of annoyed that I'd not be able to upload anywhere... Except VCL I guess, if you're talking about the furpr0ns. I didn't think the artists I watched drew really mature stuff... Not until the SA admins enacted that nobody-under-eighteen rule and suddenly i couldn't see half of my updates page.
I do disagree with people up and leaving everyplace, though...
Ashke Says:
i'm not one of the moaners, but i think i can understand where they're coming from. i draw and write all kinds of things, and i would have been willing to pay for the option of being able to upload everything if it would have been offered.
no such thing as a free lunch and all. but when it is free--yeah, you're just powerless
Bindi Says:
I agree with everything you say.
GET OVER IT. Maybe this will encourage everyone to draw cleaner things.
CompFive Says:
My sentiments exactly.
zesty Says:
Eh, I'm irritated over it, mainly because I just started drawing that sort of thing and I wanted to get opinions on it. I understand why they are taking it out, but it's just very frustrating since I thought I had found a place where I could upload it.
Not like I drew much of it anyways, lol.
iconoclast Says:
I agree with you except on the terms I've already indicated - that being that the removal of "adult" art will remove a lot of the "adults" from the site and I am concerned the admins will start pitching to a very young audience in terms of how they behave anod how they write policies, and I hate it when administrators treat me like I'm five in terms of what I can and cannot do on my own. I do not like my intelligence to be insulted by a freaking website, and I hope that is not the path that SheezyArt takes.
libbyrust Says:
So basically your stance is that because you don't like the furry porn (I'll agree that some of it I don't like..but that goes for anything, really), you're glad that they've got this policy change?
Awesome. How nice and nearsighted of you. They have every ability to keep you from seeing that stuff at all if they chose to impliment the feature...this is so sad, it really is.
The thing that gets me is their attitudes, and as others have said, how immature people are acting...and I'm sad to say this sounds immature as well.
I understand your viewpoint and you shouldn't have to see what you don't want to...but here's the deal: SA was created specifically for people to post what they like. At least that's my understanding. It was created because of DA's own rules that others did not like...now it's turning into DA. Of course people are mad. Of course they're wanting to leave. They left DA to come here because they did not like the rules...and feel slighted. Of course they do! And they have been.
In essence, they have every reason to be mad...sides, this site was created mostly for them, originally. ;)
I just have to ask...if you didn't like seeing porn...why did you sign up at a place that targeted specifically for people who do? O.o
Heh. I agree with you that the outlandish melodrama of the reactions has been most amusing. Not that I've ever uploaded (or even drawn) anything that would need an "adult" rating anyways.
The former allowance of adult material was never any God-given right. The people who (gasp!) own the site and pay to maintain it and allow all of us to use it for free have made an executive decision to revise the policies regarding accepted art. People are acting like its a personal insult. Heh.
