Well, it's the morning after the big anouncement. Now that I look at my last journal, I wonder what I was on last night.
I don't like that Sheezy's doing this, and I can understand why they have to, I'm just kinda irritated by the whole situation, like most adult artists on here are. A lot of people have told us to just flock over to VCL if we want to post adult art. VCL is nice and all, but it's just not the same for a few reasons:
1. No fan art. I know I've seen a LOT of good adult fan-art as I've surfed through pages and links on here.
2. No real user interaction. There is simply not the same level of interaction between users. Occasionally one will get an e-mail from someone via VCL, but it seems to me to be mostly just lurkers who look at the work, and silently leave only another number to the 'Hits' counter. Not that numbers don't say anything, but it's nice to get active, 'live' feedback from people. That's one of the things I know I in particular liked about this place.
3. No custom page layout to speak of. Every archive looks exactly the same as every other. It gets monotonous. It was nice going through links on here and seeing how everyone'd done up their page to suit their interests.
4. No Human artwork. Yes, most of the angered seem to be furry artists. However, some of us do more than furry art. I know I didn't in particular post any art of humans on my archive, but it was nice to know that I could if I felt the need.
Yes, there are various group sites, and several of us have flocked to them. As much as many wouldn't like to hear it, about the only saving grace at this point for freedom to post adult work is limited to personal webpages (Many of which can't post adult work for the same reason it's being taken away from here) and Yahoo and Google groups. Myself and a few others have taken up residence
here in the meantime. It's one of the beta Google groups, so no it doesn't allow image posting at the moment. However it does allow links to material and active discussions for the members. And when the groups beta-testing is done image posting WILL be allowed, so it's something to look forward to. I know only a select few will even read this, most of which have already made up their minds as to what they're doing about the situation, but I just felt I should speak my more calmed mind about this.
I'm not sure if I'll leave. I might not, though my page won't be updated nearly as often as it used to be, simply because of the outstanding ratio of clean to dirty art. But hey, there's always next time, non?
On a more positive note, I'll be going to pick up a very close friend who I havn't seen in nigh on half a year early Sunday morning. Heh, at least she has an appreciation of adult artworks.
VCL isn't a good archive, because Ch'mar is such a hoooorable mod. Yes, ;p more horable than "you-know-who" on here

I wouldn't touch VCL, the place is more complicated that most places, and even though they allow adult artwork, they just have more restrictions that are just even more unbearable.

I don't really draw much furry nowadays and I won't even bother putting any adult artwork I've drawn up here because of the recent things going on. The only reason my deviantArt doesn't get updated is because I am actually too lazy to submit anything to my dA. Might stay here instead of dA just for the customization options though.
