I wonder how many people plan on voting for Barrack Hussein Obama simply because there's some black in him?

I've heard some people say they're voting for him cuz they think he's ATTRACTIVE.

Isn't that sad?

What kind of reason is THAT to vote for someone? Or... has anyone ever heard,
"Oh well, uh, So-and-so probably is going to win, so I'll just vote for him."

And how about,
"Man, that guy's an idiot, I'm voting for the other guy!!"

But those SAME people will later say,
"Oh, I dunno. I don't really pay attention to all that politics stuff."
They like/don't like someone, but they don't know why... o_O

Why do we have such IDIOTS choosing our future???
Why are we giving people who don't know their own country's history and government the power to vote?? There's something called a DIPLOMA, and perhaps it's too easy to get one, if you can graduate and not even read past an 8th grade level.

Stop voting for the president of the United States like it's some popularity contest!! This isn't Miss America. This is OUR future president!! This is the future of our country we're talking about!! Instead of voting for who looks the best, who's the most popular or who sounds the most promising from the surface, people should learn how this country runs, how the government works and learn based off of the history we 18 and older voters SHOULD already know, what is the best for this country. THEN make a decision based on research.

Ever hear people talk about something they think they're an expert at, yet know NOTHING about? Don't they look stupid? Ever been asked to do a research paper, but didn't research as much as you could have and gave a phony bull**** presentation, hoping the teacher wouldn't notice? You probably felt stupid when you got your grade too. Well, if you vote for a candidate without doing your research, you're stupid.

The point is... Stupid people shouldn't vote.

I know we don't have much to work with this coming election, but PLEASE!! Let's not stoop to their level and vote for the PRETTIEST candidate. Find the answers to ALL the WHY's and HOW's of this country. THEN vote.

Kinda reminds me of the bumper sticker:

"I R ilterate n I R votng"

I feel this country may be going to Hell in a handbasket, just as the last days of Rome. What you said is a big reason for it.

I think the media has a part in this, though, by choosing what stories to publish or hide. You have noticed the build up of Barack's campaign, like veiling him in light with the whole "messiah" theme... which is what the people nowadays pay attention to since it's waved in front of their face. Despite Barack riding on an empty "change" campaign, continually waffles and supporting decisions that would destroy our economy... do you hear any of that on the evening news or newspaper? No, you have to do heavy and deep research by comparing speeches between the candidates, looking at their platforms, and researching their credentials and affiliations.....but in times like this, America has become so accustomed to having what it wants in the blink of an eye, it'd rather take what's spoon fed to them by the media instead. Somewhere, and somehow, doing work yourself has become drastically less attractive over the past several years.

I will say I have done my research, listened to political talk shows that are both conservative and liberal, and what I have listed above. I also admit I am not happy with the candidates, I think Guliani and Edwards should have been running (out of the surviving bunch come mid March) but they were overshadowed by Huckabee (and why? I may ask), McCain, Clinton, and Obama. How was that? Coverage. Okay, I am really getting passionate. I'll just end this by admitting McCain has my vote since he's more interested in preserving my constitutional rights and bank account than Obama.

PS. Nice journal, you bring up a very scary and true point.
