I was wondering what all you artist have been drawing as far back as you can remember, because i'm pretty interested. ^^
For me probably since 3rd or 2nd grade, I drew mostly game inspired pictures with freinds during "drawing period" in school when I had a Nintendo. The weird thing is that I didn't draw any specific characters but I drew up 2D like settings that I'd have stick figures run around in. I actually never threw away a binder of these doodles and they're surprisingly violect, but nothing you won't find in an 8 bit game like Mega Man of Contra. =p
I remember when getting into Super Metroid. I actually drew my own 2d maps and areas just like in the game. I would definately show those if I still had them...
Jr high was when I first wached DBZ and I tried watching every chance I could. I don't think I was so hooked of a show since, because much of what I drew then was DBZ related, all the way to the middles of high school. Around the same time, I have been hanging around the internet and several years later I'm here...
If your think I skipped a certain part of my story your imagining things. But seriouly if you have questions just ask. Sorry if this was boring.

Until grade six, I drew dragons and dinosaurs. Only. My dinosaurs were sometimes mobile gun turrets. I wish I could remember how that looked.
Grade 7th-8th grade, anime. Particularly Megaman fanart, though.
9th grade-year 2 of college, furry.
When I actually started to get anywhere? 12th grade. O_o

The First Characters I ever tried to draw were YOUNG SAMPSON & Iron FIST at age 11....

I dont know about everyone else, but I've been drawing onnnnnn/offffff since I was about 6. Although around that time I drew nothing but stick figures as well
When I was in about 4th grade, I started to be DBZ obsessed
If anyone would make a comment that had the slightest detail wrong, I would fix their mistake in a second. I was probably really, annoying, lol
Then I heard about DBGT and was even more obsessed. I'd buy the japanese DBGT movies (With subtitiles) and watch them over and over and over
I seriously have over 200 hundred pictures that I have drawn of DBZ/GT!! I would maybe post them, but I'm not proud of most of them, and there is just way to many, lol
Although I did win a few art contests with some of them
But, ever since the end of 5th grade and beginning of 6th grade I've been all for Sonic and Knuckles! knuckles use to be my favorite character, but soon changed around once they stopped making Knuckles comics. Sorry it's a longgg post, lol.. But that's me for ya
!!

In early elementary school, I drew a lot of abstract schematic-diagram-like stuff--so much so that it annoyed at least one of my teachers. Later on, I was known in my classes for my drawings of "Number 5" from "Short Circuit" (my obsession at the time).
In early junior high school, I was more interested in shapes and shading. I'd draw and render 3D shapes and make abstract drawings with gradients everywhere. I also did some landscapes and still-life.
In late junior high and through high school, it as all about Sonic!
Later, I started concentrating on anatomy, which is something I hadn't really done for all this time. I was only motivated to do it now by my obsession with cartoon erotica, which started with anime and Robert Crumb, was reinforced by "Animaniacs" and was cemented by some of the first "furry" artists that I found on the Internet, such as Eric Schwartz and Doug Winger. I never forgot about Sonic, though!
In college, I came full circle. I got a two-year degree in Electro-Mechanical CAD. I was sick of it after that!

Well, if your really interested.
I started drawing back in Kindergarden.
I drew myself, killing my classmates in devices you might see in Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
Then around in 6th Grade, when I actually stopped drawing stick figures. I made little Dragonball Z fan characters that look strang;ey like Bomberman, seeming that was the game I played back then.
I got more serious in art in 8th Grade, when I started making characters of my own and not just clones of a previous identidy.
I pretty much sucked until I stumbled across that "How to Draw Manga" tutorial.
A few more years into it and I'm the moderately almost good artist I am today.
Almost.

I started out with Sonic the Hedgehog back about nine years ago. Up until about four years ago, that was almost all I drew, when I drew.
Now I do more general furry stuff
Razorsinmysalad Says:
Oh yeah, I also got into this DBZ art contest at this card store I used to go to.
I made honorable mention, meaning I could get 1 pack of DBZ cards.
But I got 3 packs of Tenchi Muyo cards.
kandlin Says:
I don't remeber when I started drawing, but I remeber winning a small set of cayola markers in the 5th grade, so it must have been before then. Back then it was mostly lil' planes and tanks and war things. I didn't even think seriously about it until I was in the 10th grade, and that was caused by my first glimps of Manga. Until then I was crazy about the american artists Tod McFarlane and Jim Lee and the brand new Image crowd. When I read my first issue of Ranma 1/2, I totaly changed my veiews on comics and art. Later, it was Gunnum (Battle Angel: Alita) and so on.
It took years for me to build up the tallent to get further.. and I'm still working
WinterWinstar Says:
me it was always ninja turtles and early nintendo characters back in the 3rd and 4th grade then it was just random stuff then i guess it went to anime and from there furry and then well now :)
