It's been so long since I mentioned anything about the current evolutions of "The Utopian Legend!" About 7 months, yes?
So I remember sharing my inner concerns of the story...what would have to change, what would have to be omitted, etc. But nothing's ever definite so long as the work's in progress. I had previously mentioned situations such as the story's possibility of spanning three parts rather than two, and have also mentioned the omission of certain characters from the story as well. Among the characters, the hardest to part with were the "Tenguroids:" the noble Takeshi and the anarchaic Sir K. While both were valuable and noteworthy characters, their place in the story before seemed...off.
But what with the recent anniversary of Takeshi's creation, he re-emerged. Initially it was just a concept art for Mach Rider, but perhaps it's become more? Recently, for curiosity's sake, I decided to draw a recent incarnation of Sir K akin to Takeshi's new design. Sir K has had even more drastic design and model variations than Takeshi, but the most notable in my mind is Sir K Omega, with its strong thirst for pulse energy and its unusual "legless" design (not too different from Pepper's limbless style, but only applying to the upper legs...?). This was what inspired the newest design most, and once I have a working Flash on my computer I can display it in full glory.
With this redesign, new possibilities emerged. As mentioned once before, were a Part Three to emerge it would focus on eradicating the Dark Energy in other universes. While initially Sketch and Heather were intended to take on this responsibility alone, it *may* be possible for a little extra help to emerge. Also, another bad guy doesn't hurt either...although the ULTIMATE bad guy would appear near the end what would really end the whole battle. I suppose the integration of new technology is better presented in later times, assuming that technology of the Utopians can now allow advanced robotics to exist. The question at hand, then, would be the originator of Takeshi and/or Sir K. The possibility of reincarnating the character Shiro Ankoku exists, but I'm holding out on whether better options exist...
Whatever the case, Takeshi's presence is strong within me once again, and his new appearance has brought upon me new inspiration. It may lead to a viable and decently-assembled third part of the story. All it needs is some more fine-tuning...
Hm... I wonder if Donna Paige would become a casualty of Sir K again?...
