...is RIDICULOUS. FRIGGIN RIDICUOUS.

As a matter of fact, I feel like writing in Caps Lock because of how IDIOTIC it is. It's not even close to what Eisner wrote. But it is close to what Miller wants, so Whoopee!

It's more like an alternate version of Sin City, only that good guys are the main characters. Oh, and it has Eisner's name on it.

Seriously? When I heard that there was a Spirit movie, I jumped for joy. I had just begun reading Darwyn Cooke's take on The Spirit and it was great! I had seen some stories of Eisner's Spirit, so I knew just how faithful and funny it really was. That, and the art made you feel good too :)

So imagine my dissapointment when I first read to the official site and then Wikipedia for "further clarification."

Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spirit_(film)

"The character has a terrifying side to him. This is a man who’s died and came back to life. So it twists into fantasy. And of course there are tons of women in it. There have to be — it’s The Spirit. They’re all in love with him, and he’s in love with all of them. You might say he’s a bit of a slut.[1]"

Now I have to say this: LOL, WTF? Since when? I never have seen any indication of this. If there is, give me info so I can learn *rolls eyes*

The Spirit was a funny guy! There were some morbid times, but at least it was fun! In a way This movie has him being equally angsty as Batman, for Pete's sake!

And not even Ebony is in the blasted film! "Oh, he's controversial; oh, he was depicted as stereotypicallly black before." BLAH BLAH BLAH. We're enlightened now, right? There's such a thing as updating. I believe Cooke did exactly that, right? (He even acknowledges in the current story by having one of the guest characters refer to Ebony's past in the first story).

I'm seriously supposed to studying now, but I just couldn't hold it in anymore. Not when I already saw Yahoo! putting it as one of the superhero movies. UGH. It's like The Hulk movie. It's going to have to get remade again, despite the fact that people will only see it 'cuz of the 300/Sin City thing. AGHHHHHHH!

PS
Yes, I'm a fangirl of Darwyn Cooke. With reason.

PPS
Most people know this, but heads up-- I'm leaving for Russia next Friday. I'll try to upload some backload of art I have after Wednesday of Finals
