Recently..... ok, back in January, there was a Film Festival that i went to. Now that it's April, perhaps some of the films I saw are in other venues right now, and can be viewed by you, the geneeral public. Here's my Happy Time Filme Review!
*cue tapdancing chorous line*
Half of them slept with me to get those roles. The other half is being paid minimum wage. *rimshot*
Anyways:
................... OK, I used Babelfish jsut now, and when I saw it in Berlin, there were convenient english subtitles. But yeah, if you know German, or it's subittled in a language you can understand, go see it.
Vexlle -
"Ghost in the Shell," "Appleseed," and Cyberpunk-in-general fans take note. An excellent GCI film, this is just such a cool movie, I don't wanna spoil anything for ya. Th eplot invovles some time int he future, after advanced cybernetics become common, and Japan has completley isolated itself (to an extreme degree) from the rest of the world to develop cyber-technology.
I also felt some "Dune" in there, so check it out.
Death Note - Seven days.... before you die... you see the Desu.
.........hm, what? Oh, if you're interested in this, you prolly already know the plot already, and have a Fansub or soemthing. Besides; KITTEH VISION! X3
Suicide Song - Can't find a vid, fucking YouTube Emo fan-music-videos. XP
It's somewhat like another Japanese horror flick, Suicide Circle, except, uhm... y'knnow.... different.... like it's a song, not a circle.... uhm, yeah. Both are good.
Oh! Also, the events don't happen chronologically, and you get some time-loop like scenes where "oh, that's why that happened over there at that time!" And there's a sad little shost girl involved, and the occasional slapstick-ish comedy;
*main character rests in a hallway, guarding some girls who're prolly the next victims*
*camera pans left*
*two Sadako's are right next to him*
"......................... go back to bed, you two."
*the two girls go back to their room*
Midnight Ballad for Ghost Theatre -
Look here, look here, look here, look here;
Look at you now; you are so sexy~!
Look here, look here, look here, look here, woah woah, woah;
Look at you now; you are so A-MA-ZING!
Rocky Horror Picture Show fans, take note!
Yobi: The Five-Tailed Fox -
......................................... SO FREAKIN' CYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!
Miyazaki Hayao (Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, ect) fans, take note!
Dasepo Naughty Girls -
..............I've always suspected: whatever high-grade super-Hallucinagens Coumbia or wherever pumps out; they ship the most powerful of that shit to Asia. I now have proof.
This movie just kicks too much ass to not have drugs invovled in it's making. Like Katamari Damancy.
George A. Romero's: Diary of the Dead -
ZOMBIES! RUN FOR YOUR ASS!
Pretty cool movie. But like in Cloverfield, you WILL evenutally hate the cameraman character on a personal level. Fuck you and your thinly-veiled nick-name, HUD!
Epitah -
Mo' Asian horror~. Werd, mah holmes. *gangsta sign*
Really interesting plot twists~
Remarkable Power -
Porn stars, drugs, a coincidental loser, Late-night infomercials, and a cuckooled TV show host. Oh, and one case of accidental manslaughter.
But the "missing dog" subplot was mostly cut out. Director was there, he said there was stuff about all LA dogs going crazy, "The Big One (Earthquake)", but he cut it out.
