College and Career Research Project
Project Goal: Your goal is to make a 10-15 slide presentation about one college, university, or trade school using PowerPoint. Using Word, you will produce an outline of your presentation.
Directions:
1. Answer the questions below.
2. Choose one school to use in your slide show presentation.
3. Create your 10-15 slide show presentation.
Questions to help you start your project:
1) Name two careers that you are interested in obtaining once you finish high school and college and why.
*beautician//tattoo artist//cosmetologist
2) List two colleges, universities, or trade schools that you would like to attend that offer programs to obtain the job or jobs listed above.
*Rogers Hair Academy//or//Regency Beauty Institute
3) Research the cost of attending these universities for one full year. You are going to be a full time student that lives on campus. Do not forget to include the cost of books and other materials needed for your classes.
*about $25,000 a semester
4) Write down the classes that you would have to take as a first year student in the program listed above to attain your ideal career.
General curriculum classes. Science, Math, English, ect.
5) How many years of schooling will you have to complete to apply for your career?
*4 years
6) What type of degree do you have to earn (bachelors, masters, and/or a doctoral degree) before you apply for your career?
*I want a bachelors in beauty
7) What requirements do you need to fulfill to get accepted?
*I need to be sixteen years of age or older.
8) What scholarships can you apply for to get money for college?
*I am going to try and get an academic scholarship and an athletics scholarship. But I’m most likely going to get a students loan.
