More reading: They just can't strip our rights like that. It doesn't make sense. That's why your mouth drops when you read the article.. because it just can't happen.

The conclusion: Always watermark, guys. This is why I do it, and why I always suggest for people who don't TO DO IT.

On a much more amusing note:

I've heard about some new copyright law floating right now, link to the article?

junobean Says:

Yes, link please?

NAAN Says:

Haha, and here I was still pondering whether to waste $45 on registering some of my comic works...and now this comes along.

I've been reading lots of DA journals about this; while it's true that we should be worried about the bill (I mean, hello? Registering everything?! You want the Great Depression to come back again for us, when we're in danger of recession? And theft being made LEGAL now? WTF?), at the same time I haven't seen any "official" reports or even "rumor" reports about it. *Sigh* What a world, what a world...All in all, I just hope it never comes true. Because then another can of worms is opened and pandemonium will break loose.

On another note: The pic's funny, but it's a bit cruel to that poor dog ;___;

Didn't I put that picture on your MySpace before? Hehehehheh.

Ahh yes, I actually haven't ever gotten any crap about watermarking my stuff! O_o I'm surprised. I just think it's absolutely retarted when people tell you not to do it. Ugh, the fans.. the watchers.. they look at the piece for like... 10 seconds maybe, then are off on their way and pretty much never look at the piece of artwork ever again. Yet you spend so much time on your pieces, and getting it taken away and slandered isn't a great freaking feeling - I wish these people would understand.

A lot of them always reply, "Ahh, well my art is really crappy anyway - no one would want that." Oy...

Jennifer Kearney Says:

Link please? I would love to know more about this.

I wouldn't worry about linking people to the article, apparently the 'bill' is years old and basically died out anyway, just continue how you're going. Watermarking is the best you can do without getting things 'officially' copyrighted.

Dukesa Says:

This is just so sad... and scary... T___T

Hysteric Lollipop Says:

Ugh. Yeah. My sis and I bitched about that earlier today.
Going into the art business (already going to illustrate a children's book. ), and well, it just seems scary. You already have to pay for you mediums and paper, which is ALREADY expensive, and to put registry on top of that is INSANE. Plus, being an artist takes a lot of hours(even more if you've actually got commissions, then you have to deal with transactions, meetings, etc.), then you have work registering into your already busy schedule. The way it is now is PERFECT. I honestly wonder how anyone could think of it and call it a great idea...and how any one could look at it and AGREE that it's a good idea. Well, it's money no doubt. The root of every problem. *sigh* B:>

As for the picture, first thing I thought was, "Poor thing. How did they get him in? How do they get him out...? 3:" Seems dangerous.
