I am not really in the mood for writing or doing something else besides drawing. You know that my dog has been very ill the last few weeks and some of you wanted me to keep you updated about how he’s doing. Well, the next words I am going to write are very very hard for me …
We always had a glimpse of hope that he would be fine again. But after each day passing by it got worse. He didn’t eat any more and stopped drinking as well. His eyes were dull and the joy he always had was gone. Rex left us on Monday, 3rd march at 12 pm. He has been put to sleep and was looking so peacefully and when his heart stopped beating I thought now he is finally free of any pain. There I’m crying again, it will take me while to think of him and not start crying. He was more than just a friend. We did many things together and I’ll remember our time together with a smile on my face.

awww...*hugs* it is soo hard to lose a dog you have many fond memories with. I lost many dogs, cats, and believe it or not...chickens. It's never fun to lose them..it took me awhile to get over my favorite dog Bandit. She was such a great dog...when she died I cried for days. It's good to get your feelings out about a death of a animal..or loved one for that matter. I sowwy that happend. :<
It's always so hard to even think about a lost pet so soon after losing them but at least you did a good thing in helping him move on rather than keeping him around because you couldn't let him go.
I still get teary eyed every now and then for Foxy the kitten who died a year and 4-5 months ago when I think about her enough. It's very much like a deep cut, go near it or touch it or play with it in any way and it will hurt so we tend to steer away from it (as we steer our thoughts away from thinking of a lost pet in order to avoid the sadness). Eventually things get better but it will always be there even in some small form.
He's happy now wherever he is.
Sorry for your loss.
WhiteFoxDK Says:
It took me 9 months to finally stop feeling so bad about my own dog's death. Don't push yourself, just let the grieving go naturally. If you feel sad, cry it out without a care.
Sgt Nelson Says:
I'm so sorry that happened. I hope you feel better as soon as possible. I know how horrible it is to loose a pet that's close to you. *hugs*
Minstrel Ayreon Says:
Pets have a real place in your hearts...it's natural to grieve for them. :-/
I firmly believe that they all have innocent souls, though, and that they go on to the next life in peace. I know it would be awkward to try to explain why, but I believe that VERY strongly.
Gryphie Says:
I am sorry for your loss, it's not easy to lose someone who has been close to you for long, some people see pets as simply animals, but they are, essentially, an integral part of the family and a loss is hard. *hugs* At least he is free now, and he left you with happy memories, and as long as he remains in your heart, he will never have left you.
KidDoom Says:
I'm so sorry
*Hug* I'm sorry.
Jolie Says:
*hugs* I know it's rough. We recently had to put one of our ferrets to sleep. So I truly do feel the pain with you.
