Wow, saw the first showing today. Would have written this sooner but I was feeling really bad because of the cursed time of the month so I had to go to bed.
ANYWAYS
Brilliant. Bloody. Johnny was like someone/something I have never seen before. This movie was absolutely amazing, one of the best I've seen in years. For those that don't know, yes it is a musical so I'm sure there's a lot of people who are skeptical to see it because of that fact alone. Due to this however, the movie is only playing in select theaters. Which I thought was ridiculous, especially after seeing how full the theater was.
Do NOT let the fact that it's a musical stop you from seeing this movie. If you do, you're missing out on wonderful film.
And the end.. wow one of the most beautifully tragic endings I have ever seen.
Amazing film.

So, I was going to go see this with my theatre class and teacher Mr. Meyer opening night, but didn't work out. So the only question I have for you is this: Have you seen the actual musical? Because what we were all really worried about was that it was just going to take all the humor out of it. If not...well then nevermind.
But...I heard it was great, just haven't heard if it was in reference to the original...

i saw the original stage show a while back....and came into the movie forgetting it was a musical.....but still loved it the music was stunning!
i give it a 5 stars
i can't remember the last time i walked out of a movie with Chills
i know it got a bunch of nominations for best picture/actor/etc. makes me kinda wanna see it. but i'll probably wait until the theaters aren't jam packed with 13 year old girls
