Hey gang,

As I've said a couple times, I work for a company called radio lounge - we produce radio commercials and things like that.

Anyways, we're looking for a British announcer for a 60 second commercial. It's a 60 second spot. And, yes, it's for a real client, a real company, and it will really air on the American radio airwaves.

So, it's particularly odd they want a British announcer. Any ways, you have to have a either
1) spot on British accent
or 2) a REAL British accent.
We're looking for something that sounds like the Gieco Geko, so that's something to work with.

Most of these spots can't sound like you're reading the script. Don't try to sound like an announcer - just sound like the next door neighbor giving you some information.

Here's the spot

I'll give it a shot.

Rogultgot Says:

that geico thing I youtube'd seemed alright, but authentic VA? that's some giant leap shit right there

TomaMoto Says:

Sounds like something I'd want to try... But I think the geico accent is supposed to be ausralian

Tanooki Says:

Tanooki wants to be on American radio.

Even if he's advocating education.

I'll give it a shot. I'll have my takes by the end of the 12th at the latest.

Skarma Says:

Not exactly sure about the Geico accent...
But I could definatly do the British accent, seeing as I'm British an all.

Maybe I'll give it a try or 2.

TomaMoto Says:

Sent a couple takes. Enjoy. =)

Terralventhe Says:

I'm English and all, but I dunno about a 'Geico' accent. Mine is more rough-around-the-edges in terms of accentation, so it wouldn't sound nearly as smooth and slick as the Geico one. I'll think of giving it a go at least, but no promises.
