I really am very flatteed when people comment on my work, moreso whe they compliment it or show intrest, who wouldn't be?
The time we put into our creations being worth it in that someone else feels or sees something through or in it, its what we artists love.

But we don't, or rather can't, live on praise alone. (wish we could, but we can't).
And while it sure is a boost to the ego and the heart that someone finds my work desireable. I am not a charity.

When I post that some of my work is for sale, I mean its for sale, its not a freebie and its not the time to ask for requests.
I'm not a being a bitch, I just need to live too, you know?
Also, I am misanthropic and very very slow to make good friends. I will only give art away to people if I've known them pretty well a while, sometimes an aqquaintance will get a giftart, but people I dont know from adam? Not likely.
Hell, my best friend has tried to PAY me for my art. I of course refused as she is one of the closest people to my heart there can be.. of course I won't charge her.
But if someone so close to me can have the sense and dignity to offer to pay for artwork, why can't complete strangers?

I am a busy person, I have more than one personal project to poke at, I attempt to get commissions, I have a contest entry to work on, I've just finished my traditional media set of gift arts... and this is just my art side... outside of art I'm pretty much running a house and 24/7 depressed but dealing with it...
I've never been one for requests. And giftart is a random but precious thing with me.

If you like my art so much you want me to make a piece for you, please, have more respect for my craft and negotiate a commission with me, not throw a request suddenly in my face.
If you can't afford it, save up, if thats not an option...well, sorry, if I don't know you, I can't help you.
(and this is NOT an invite for people to come trying to make fairweather friends with me just to get free art. I've known certain people very well for -years- or I have a good vibe/fair chemistry from them...or both).

But please don't get me wrong, and I stress,I really do appreciate the comments and favs I get, and it does my heart and mind good to see people liking my creations so much.
I just can't give out pieces of my heart to strangers.

GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!

I wouldn't expect you to give out free art anyways. I just do it because I'm too lazy to do things on my own unless someone pushes me

I agree entirely. The only problem is, this place is full of nothing but kids, so they wouldn't be able to pay you for the art Just gotta say no and move on....

Lol I agree with whitefoxdk. Most of the people on here have the mentality of a 12 year old (if they arn't already 12). Try not to take it personally or get too irritated. Pretend like you're talking to your younger sister/brother? A lot of these people don't really understand the value of artwork. They grew up watch pokemon, not strolling through art galleries. >_<. I totally understand where you're coming from though. I get irritated too but I try not to let it get my panties in a knot. ;p
