Okay... so here's the lowdown on where I've been.
About the time of the 12th of November ( a Monday ) I came home to my roommate saying that we may have Asbestos as insulation in our apartment. Which would cause us to have to move out as the apartment complex will be demolished as of December 16th of this year.
Given my horrible luck with life, it was almost a guarantee that we had Asbestos. There was to be someone from the city coming by the next day to do some tests to see if there was actually Asbestos in our building.
Tuesday came and gone, and we didn't hear anything, so we figured it was okay.
Wednesday, and my mom came by and talked with me about some of the legal action the apartment complex could take ( cause she's a Paralegal and knows this kinda stuff ) and said some stuff that I really didn't pay any attention to cause I was playing Hitman.
Thursday hit and I came home from lunch and there was a note attached to the door saying something along the lines that there needed to be a discussion with the landlord and occupants of the apartment. Given that I wasn't on the lease, I waited until the others came home to tell them.
I did, and he said it could wait till tomorrow to talk to him.
Friday came by, and when I went home for lunch that day my roommate said that we had until Monday to find a new place, and move out. He did say that we could pay another month's rent and live there until December 16th, but screw that.
So it was a frantic search, unfortunately, I worked all that week, from Thursday to Tuesday. Six days in a row, which really freakin' sucked because I had no idea what we were going to move into, how the search was going, or how quickly we would be able to move three people out of one place and into another without losing anything in the move.
Monday came and we found a spot, thank god...
Oddly enough, it's right in the neighborhood where all three of us grew up, mind you, that we all really didn't start hanging out with each other until about 3-4 years ago.
Anyway, so we get to unpacking and well... we can't find the freakin' modem anywhere, but we really didn't look all that well.
So we lived without internet for a while, and then we really started to look on the 28th for it, and didn't find it in any box.
We tried to call up a friend that did the majority of moving for us ( Thanks Dan ) but we soon found his cell phone lying on our coffee table/metal trunk.
Come Saturday, we asked Dan if he could look in his car for it so he did, but couldn't find it... so then on Sunday we call up our ISP and have a lengthy and runaround conversation of how we've misplaced our modem and that we'd like a new one.
They're supposed to send a guy down today with our new modem, but it's 4pm and there's still no one knocking on my door.
Yesterday, Dan stopped by with our modem he found in his room, and that's where I'm at.
I'm also supposed to be working on a character sheet for a GURPS roleplay session... but I'm not. Most of it is because we got Rock Band on Monday... and that's really about it.
There was more stuff that happened over this internet hiatus that I just honestly don't want to go into right now, for a few reasons, but mainly because I doubt most will even read this far.
