Yesterday, I went to the Manaphy giveaway at Toys R Us; almost didin't make it, as the Toys R Us is about 40 minutes or so away from our house. We left after 2 and the event ended at 3. I got there about 2:50, so I was able to get my Lonely-Natured Manaphy.

There were about two other kids there when I arrived, a little girl (whose trainer name was May) and 13-14 year old boy (whose trainer name was Josh). We exchanged friend codes, mixed records, and traded Pokemon. I traded two of my Cranidos and a Charmander. THe Pokemon I got in return, Cascoon, Shieldon and Machop, were ones I already have but I didn't care. After we traded May left, so Josh and I battled using only our two new Manaphy in order to see how good their stats were. My Manaphy was faster, but has extremely low Defense (plus its Whirlpool attack kept missing) so I lost. I don't care about that, though.

After our battle we both went into the Sinnoh Underground and visited each others' Secret Base. We took each flags out of the other's base (we didn't even try to stop each other) until I had 10 flags and Josh had 50. I could have gotten 50, but I had to leave so I didn't have time to do so, though I was nice enough to let Josh get all 50 flags.

In addition to Manaphy, I got some other nifty PokeCrap, including: A sheet of Water-Pokemon stickers, a coloring page featuring Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, an issue of Pokemon Fan Magazine, and a Manaphy Bookmark.

I also bought two packages of Blood Pops and a Twilight Princess Gamecube Skin. And I found out that Pokemon Merchandise is cheaper at Toys R Us than it is anywhere else.

I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to next year when the giveaways will feature Darkrai and Shaymin. Plus, I'll be living in Muncie then, which means Toys R Us won't be that far of a drive (it's in Muncie)!
