Ech, not feeling great. Starting off with the website, even though I've already got it in my shoutbox, because I'm not convinced that anyone actually goes here and I want to make sure it gets seen. http://umpire.proboards52.com. Anyway, next up is state of the breakfast: Waaaah!!! Dunkin Donuts premiered two great new flavors for the summer, Lemon Burst and Key Lime Pie. For awhile, I was getting one of each, but then I switched to two Lemon Burst. Right when I was considering going back to the split, Key Lime Pie disappeared. Now Lemon Burst's gone, too. They made up for it today, though, with free samples of their new hash browns, which were actually pretty good. State of the fork: Remember me telling you about the illustration in the paper of the '07 Yankees with a fork in their back, waving a white flag? Well, obviously they weren't done after all. Today's sports section features that same player, now upright and holding the fork (and still with puncture marks), standing over a ripped-up copy of the original illustration. Also, we have XM to talk about. I understand them only going for the races when recapping last night's games, but with the Yankees losing, they made the right call including Detroit's game in there...so then why didn't they include Cleveland-Seattle? The assumption, and no, I haven't looked to see, would be that Seattle lost, thereby eliminating them... I also thought at first that they had glazed over the doubleheader when previewing tonight's games, but I heard the schedule again shortly before I arrived and it was there. Other happenings of note: Prince Fielder's two home runs in last night's 9-1 victory over the Cardinals made him the youngest player to hit 50 home runs in a season (23) and also made him the younger half of the only father-son combination to each hit 50 homers in a season; his father Cecil's career high was 51.
