GAAAAAHHHHHHH.
Review from my LJ:

So.
It could've been better. A lot better, actually. Don't get me wrong, I

HP with all my heart and soul and OotP is an awesome book (but PoA is better!), but...well, it wasn't as good as it could've been.
I think it bothered me mostly because OotP is a very emotional book--whether it's Harry in his OMGCAPSLOCKOFRAGE!111!, his total angst-fest when he thinks Voldie's controlling him, or even when Cho (*makes stabbing motions in background*) is sobbing all over the place, it was about EMOTION. When Harry's scared that the dreams in the Department of Mysteries mean something, you worry about it. When he finally stops blaming himself for Siruis's death at the end of the book and feels pity for Luna, that's important. It's showing how he's maturing as a person, and actually growing up.
Cho was actually pretty decent in the movie though. Granted, she was just the "girlfriend" and was a complete cardboard cutout, but still. I hate how she betrays the DA and squeals on everyone though, that really pissed me off. The scene under the mistletoe was cute--total makeout session though

--although I prefered how Harry didn't want to tell anyone in the book, as opposed to Ron just asking Harry how it was. >_> I did like how you could see Ginny was bothered by it (*is a huge H/G fan, though not a fan on how it cropped up in the books*).
There was NO QUIDDITCH. That makes me a sad Riyna, especially since I

the Quidditch sequences. So, no Ron yelling at people and no chorus of "Weasley Is Our King". Le sigh.
The actor they played for Tonks was okay, pictured her with shorter hair, and I was dying for her to say, "Wotcher, Harry!", which didn't happen. D: I really liked the actor for Kingsley, though it could have done without the accent. The dementors were really cool looking in this movie, though I still wanted to see their faces.

The lady they got to play Figg was completely off, she went from "WTFMUNDUNGUSWAS SUPPOSEDTOBEWATCHINGYOUHEISSODEAD~" to an old lady that was like "*small voice* Let's get Dudley back and don't leave the house..." I wanted to see Harry threaten everyone, which didn't happen. In fact, his RAGE OF DOOM is very absent in this movie...which was important in the book. In fact, you don't really feel emotional ties to anyone in the movie--somewhat like all the familiar ties have been cut--which makes it not as great as a watch.
Umbridge. Well, she was a perfect bitch, but I think they should have picked someone who was chubbier. I liked Luna--she had the perfect dreamy quality to her voice I had imagined. And the Threstrals? Totally awesome.

And Grawp. OMG HE WAS SO CUTE~
I don't like Dumbledore. I hated the actor for him in the third and fourth movies, and my opnion still stands. He's much too loud for Dumbledore. The first actor for him was perfect. Man, I miss Richard Harris so much. ;_____; I liked the court scene better in the book, because Fudge flipped out. Didn't happen in the movie.
Dumbledore vs. Voldemort = A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Could've done with some music though. And the whole thing about Harry beating Voldemort out of his mind was okay. I love the cool effect with his eyes.
There was no Lily (or if there was, I didn't see her o_O). In fact, Harry doesn't stumble on Snape's Pensieve at all. He chances upon it when they're practicing the Occulemency course. It wasn't even all that impressive. James just had Snape dagling and was like "Hey, let's see his underwear!

" Snape kicks him out afterwards.
Sirius's death scene was super-fast in the movie. And weren't they on a staircase in the book? Because they weren't in the movie and when he died, he just got sucked up by the veil. Eh.
And wtf was with the whole Dumbledore and Harry convo after the battle? In the book, it was like:
Harry: The prophecy says I have to kill Voldemort OH NOES
Dumbledore: But you don't have to!
Harry: Wtf, are you insane? IT'S WHAT THE PROPHECY SAYS
Dumbledore: No, you don't! I cared about you too much and I didn't tell you all this IMPORTANT stuff from the beginning! But you don't have to follow the prophecy because...*rants for pages on why*
Harry: *refuses to listen and breaks things* IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE OLD MAN
Dumbledore: IT'S LOVE DAMNIT WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU LISTEN
Harry: Love? ....awesome! *feels all prideful of 'rents*
In the movie? Like this:
Harry: Crap, this prophecy says I've got to kill Voldemort

Dumbledore: *nods wisely*
Harry: Wait, you knew?! wtfwtfwtf
Dumbledore: O SNAP I guess I should have told you sooner. But, uh, I cared too much!
Harry: ...?
WTF THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE. D:
The visuals for the movie were nice. I was impressed. But, as I said, the movie could've been better. I hope HBP is better than this (however, I still stand by the opnion that PoA was the worst movie in the series and I will shout it from the rooftops). I know they're keeping the same director that did OotP on for HBP, which has me worried. :/
In conclusion:
Pretty visuals =/= Good storyline. GET IT RIGHT, DAMNIT.
My grade?
6/10

Fuck. Now I'm pissed.

You know, I didn't think the movie was that bad, but until you pointed all of those things out...oh man...you are ABSOLUTELY right. :) It's still the best movie by far, but...wow. I just re-read the 5th book before the movie came out.
