So... I closed out of the other journal entry i was writing about this. How annoying. SIGH.
So. if you want to read all the boring stuff you can do so. :) I'm just glad to be back. FINALLY. in a nutshell, the trip was good but very, very long. Here's the short version:
The drive there was fine.
Bruce was alright. Cool but bleh.
Zion was AMAZING.
Las Vegas is a hellhole.
The trip back was Hell also.
BAD. SUNBURN ON MY SHOULDERS
Here's the boring:
Day 1:
Drove through Tahoe and into Nevada, drove for 8hrs to Baker which is in the middle of nowhere and ate dinner while listening to the locals yuck it up and constantly play the slot machines.
Day 2:
The next morning after sleeping in our crappy little room, we drove through Nevada and Utah until we reached Bryce Canyon and unloaded our stuff into our little cabin. Then we went to all the little lookout points and viewed the valley from them and got bored so we went back to the cabin, had dinner and went back out to watch the sunset but we missed it.
Day 3:
Then the next day my parents woke me and my brother up at 5 in the morning to go see the sunrise in the FREEZING COLD. And I fell on my ass while walking back down the hill. Then we all went to sleep back at the cabin till 10, and got up and drove to the Navajo Loop trail, hiked that for a few hours (which was murder... and I got sunburned really bad), then we went back to the cabin and had dinner, then went back up to the point for the sunset.
Day 4:
Ok. We left for Zion the next morning after packing up, took us about 2 hours to get there and it was AWESOME. The first trail we took was the canyon overlook, it was awesome. The place looks like Jurassic Park, no joke. Then we drove through this single-lane wide tunnel and through the valley, stopped at the hotel and dropped our stuff, took a nap and then went back out to the Weeping Rock trail which was awesome, it was this rock w/ a mini waterfall coming off of it. Then we had dinner at the Zion lodge which was amazing, BAH it was delicious. Then we took the Emerald Pools trail from there through an awesome forest thing.. reminded me of Star Wars. We came to the first pool and it was like the Weeping Rock but bigger, and the hike to the second pool was about a half mile.
That one was cooler because it had reeds and stuff and was on the edge of a cliff. JURASSIC PARK. YES. IT IS. Then we walked back to the Lodge at dusk and went back into the town where our hotel was, then had dessert. Then we went to sleep.
Day 5:
The next day we took the tram to the Riverside walk trail and took about a half hour to walk that, then at the end of that there's a canyon with a river running through it and we walked the river for a couple hours then turned back.We made it back to the lodge and had some food, then took a nap at the hotel and then had dinner and drove to an outlook point about a half hour away and watched the sunset and then got ice cream in the local town.
Day 6:
We drove out of Zion and to las Vegas, which I slept during most of. We came into Las Vegas and I was NOT impressed even at the very start. There's porn everywhere. And it was cloudy and HOT. not like... warm. like. HOT. We stayed at the Westin though. talk about pimped. So then we walked the strip and died from the heat, but the insides of the casinos were cool. The Luxor was cool (egyptian style) and the treasure island because it had a pirate ship. Then we met my dad's old friend from high school and her husband at a Mexican restaurant there and it was good. Then we drove around and went into the New York New York casino and it was AWESOME. Then we went to bed.
Day 7:
Drove home. It SUCKED. I'm done. Yay thanks for listening yallls.

...As for Las Vegas...my once innocent mind was corrupted there. xD Uuum, dude, you've made me want to go to Zion (and eat there)...sounds awesome. o_O
Backwards Twin 2 Says:
I've been to Zion, and actually live in Vegas.
It's not that bad. The heat's only bad when it's 120 degrees.
And the rest of Las Vegas isn't like the strip ;D
Sorry, just passin' though... *kills your watch button*
