DAILY DEVIATION FOR 05-14-07 A FUCKING STRAWBERRY.

God, I think I'm going to leave deviantART soon. It's getting worse and worse by the day. Not that SheezyArt is doing much better but still. Looking at all of the recent "Popular" and "Daily Deviation", I see a blatant lack of much that was just great. Some was decent yeah maybe even good but not HEY LET'S PUT THIS ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST SUBMISSIONS SITE ON THE INTERNET kind of good.

Looking at the first 360 "Popular" submissions for the last 24 hours, only about 1/10 of them are actually good. A lot of them are just shit that became popular because there are thousands of artistically inactive fanboyish cocksucks at dA. If I had a dollar for every fanatic dumb ass on the internet...

And where does dA get off passing porn as art? I mean, you can argue about "oh well look at the artistic history of the world, it's full of nudes" YEAH WELL, NONE OF THOSE FAMOUS NUDES WERE FUCKING PHOTOGRAPHS. THE VATICAN AND THE DAVID, THOSE TOOK TALENT. PUTTING A SOMEWHAT MILDLY ATTRACTIVE GIRL IN FRONT OF A CAMERA NAKED IS PORNOGRAPHY. I HAVE SEEN VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY FEW PHOTOGRAPHS OF NUDES THAT SEEMED ARTISTIC TO ME (relatively few) Perversion (not just of the flesh) runs throughout the world bad enough as it is, but must it run through the art community? I mean, look at all of these submissions:

And those are just some of the most blatant examples in the last few hours! Some of them were drawn, but look at the rest of the picture. I like a good wank to a pretty girl as much as the next hormonally driven teenage boy, but this is disgusting. Pornography is not art, no matter how much people say it is.

And KEKEKEKEGAYSHITKEKEKE KAWAII is all over the internet too. That's understandable, to an extent. But never as far as it goes on deviantART. 7/10 of the whole fucking site is nothing but Anime/Same old shit/Asian culture imitated by Americans*/Shit/Shit/Shit/Fanboy/girlism [I love a good Shiek (fuck off I like Shiek as a boy, don't ask why) submission but come ON, I say Naruto characters having sex just now on dA] It's just sickening. Some artists recieve well over a hundred comments on their submissions within an half hour because of their Asian "inspiration"! I have a few good examples. Don't get me wrong, they're all great artists and I like their stuff yes, but I don't go all crazy fanboy and fav everything they do right away and be all OGM TAHT IS SO COLO CAN I PLZ FELLATE U>?@!?!@??? every chance I get. I've been mass flamed on dA before for trying to critique some work before. I mean I got well near 80 messages of people calling me a faggot, among other things, when I commented saying that he needed to work on his anatomy (a while back) and finally it took him, a skilled coder and a few mods to shut everybody up about it and to get everyone over the whole affair!

And the shit that passes for vector "art" is just depressing. I mean the majourity of the vector art on the site is just photographs that somebody opened and traced in illustrator. Now I've been a blatant art trace myself, many of you can attest to that, but never this bad. One particular member has 10k+ page views, and three submissions. All of them traced photographs. I could go on and on about this subject, but at the risk of my computer over-heating before I finish (it shuts itself down after too long of it being on, it can't handle Flash very well) I'll stop here.

I should write a book about all of the shit that goes on at dA. It'd be a best selling trilogy, with books as thick as Harry Potter. Now I'm not saying that SheezyArt is a paradise either, but you'd never know it looking at dA.

My god, who would've ever thought that something so intuitive and ingenious as the internet could be.. Something Awful.
