How to Save a Life

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

Yep, some of you have heard about this on LL.org, but I finally decided to make a journal here on SA about it so that folks that didn't feel like joining LL.org could hear about it. As some of you may have seen on CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC, Americus GA got hit head on by a tornado. It wiped out a large chunk of the town and put a direct hit on the Hospital here.

Luckily, we were safe and sound at our dorm at the University. Here are a few images that I got courtesy of the local NBC Affiliate in Albany, GA, WALB.





BTW, arrow on top right is approximate location of my dorm. About a half a mile or so from the damage. My friends' apartment is about 2 blocks from where the damage began.



Right now I'm at home with my family. I'll probably head back tomorrow if all goes well. From what I heard the power has come back on in town. So hopefully the town will be back on its feet in no time. And thus I bring an end to one of the strangest weeks in my life.


PS: I'll post more pictures when I get them from my friend who was taking pics with his digital camera. (mine is messed up)
