First off I gotta appologize for not being active. First I was sick...then I was just lazy. But not lazy lazy...just art lazy. Actually I was able to get Ubuntu running on my one system again. In an effort to leave behind the world of Microsoft and spyware. Ya see I'm more of an art and surfer person on the PC...not much into games on the pc...more a console game kinda guy. So when I discovered the easy to install and easy to use Ubuntu (very user friendly linux) about a year ago...I've been working hard to convert over to it. I was on it for a bit back in july but my wife's cpu's power supply and video card died...so I had to steal em off the ubuntu system...but recently my bro gave me a new card and tada...my ubuntu box is back! It has alot of art software built into it. Gimp is already there...and though most of ya hate it...I've grown accustomed to it. I also now have inkscape...a free scalable vector program that I really like and a free 3d rendering program called Blender...that hopefully I can figuire out.(those always confuse me!) It uses Firefox as a browser and has evolution as it's mail prog. It is kinda tricky to get some media codecs to work so I can dload tvshows and watch em...but it's doable if ya read the docs and help files carefully. Over all I'm happy with it...and for those dreading buying the vista upgrade...and getting tired of spyware and virus may wanna consider it.

You can go there and grab the iso for the live CD for what ever machine ya got. Booting from the live CD will let ya try it out and see what ya think without effecting your system. But be pre-warned...once a hard drive is made linux...it's damn near impossible to get windows back on it!

so hopefully now that I'm settling down...I can get back to my art!
