"An engaging premise, a tightly-constructed plot, fast-paced narrative and powerfully atmospheric scene-setting combine to make Zoe Stead's 'The Amulet of Vichalace' one of the strongest and most promising genre debuts of recent years."
Tom Holt
YES. It is happening. I recieved my first book review today- this one from my new best friend (lol) Tom Holt, who writes those highly amusing fantasy books with the stick figures on the covers. Yes! A famous person LIKES my work.

Anyway, totally forgetting my politeness here, HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! What an interesting few days it has been already. I have ended up with the worlds WORST temperature and have been really ill (hence lack of comic/artwork/being on msn and everything) Still, I managed to drag myself out of bed at about midday to check my emails and stuff, and update you lot (my friends, fans and snuggly buddies) of what The Zoe has been up to.
Well, over Christmas I had my Mum come to stay, which was nice, as since my Dad left I have wanted to look after her, and it was nice for the first time in 20+ years for her not to have to make Christmas dinner! I am sure I would have put on loads of weight too (we had much to eat as both me and Matt love to cook, so made everything from biscuits through to mince pies and scotch eggs!) but after the past few days of being unwell I'm back to my skinny jeans again! (Zoe does not reccomend illness as a form of dieting- just to clear that up)
I have also joined a belly dancing class...yes, which if I am well enough, starts tomorrow. I need to get a coinbelt (horray for e-bay) and learn to wiggle my hips around, and if anyone knows me that well they will wonder how on Earth I will manage to keep the top half still... I will keep you all informed on how that one goes
I also have lots of lovely pressents:
Two watches, MUCH anime and drawing stuff, some clothes, chocolate...more chocolate...chocolate...errr....even more chocolate...some book tokens and, oh yeah, chocolate
We have enough chocolate to last till next year- which is NOT, I reapeat, NOT a bad thing. I also got some CD's and fluffy socks. Xmas is not Xmas without socks.
And so I come more up to date.
I will be back to the drawings as soon as I feel well enough to hold a pencil, my current projects include working on a biiiiig picture for my friend Rena, the normal comicy goodness and many other things relating to the London comic con in March. SO much to do!!!
Anyway I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Peace and Goodwill to all men, women, dead, undead, vampires, chocolate coated vampires, and huggly werewoofs!
Till the next update,
Behave and don't do anything I wouldn't do!
*hugs and snuggles*
Zoe
