I sold two of my prints at the university's art sale at a $100 each, half of it goes to charity and the other half went to me, so I'm happy that I made $100! But I didnt know how they gave the money to the people who got money. I asked my teacher and she told me to talk to Jack, who's the chairman of the art department. So I wanted because I didnt have class till four, I waited and waited until fifteen minutes before class and decided to leave and come back afterwards. On my way to class I saw Jack and me and one of my classmates talked to him about getting the money, my classmate told him that he was going to come back after class, but Jack told me that he wasnt sure if he received a check for my artwork and if I had the pieces. I told him that the two I sold werent there, so he told me that he wasnt sure what happened.

At this point I have to go to class because I had a presentation to do for my final but I also know that the possibility of someone stealing my artwork really bothered me. So I decided to go with Jack and see if the person who bought them came back. We went to his office and looked through the receipts, he told me that if they were infact stolen (which would have been a first) he would pay me the money out of the funds for charity. It didnt make me happy to hear that cause I didnt want that to happen but at the same time it made me mad that someone may have taken them. Fortunately we found the receipts and I got my check for the pieces.

I found out that the woman who paid for my artwork is a "preferred customer" someone who i guess has bought stuff there before. So I was happy. He told me that he really liked me work, that it was very good, and he showed me the artwork of this girl who does comic books. I was really impressed and he told me thank you for participating in the art sale and submitting my artwork.

He then went on to say that he wanted me to keep in touch with him next semester because he wants to use some of my work on the University's website!!!! I'm so damn happy! I really feel like a professional now. This has been such a good first semester at the university, it really makes me think and realize that I made a good decision to come here, I'm so happy! ^^
