None ... It's quiet.

One of my two rats has pneumonia. It was rather sudden, and one of the lymph nodes behind her eyes is swollen. So besides sounding terrible, wheezing and clicking, she looks terrible as well. I took her to the vet this morning and got her some medication. It's already started to help some. Either that or my furnace of a car did on the ride there.

Three-quarters of the veternarians in this town were like "A rat? Do you know anyone with a python?" That's like a vet suggesting that you treat your favorite cat with "Dr. Remington." Another receptionist actually laughed at me and said "We don't treat vermin." I replied "And I don't pay slime, bitchzilla." I pinched my finger when I slammed the phone down.

But I did eventually find out that my usual vet office wasn't closed for vacation on Christmas this year, since he got a partner, and they're awesome. He even consulted several books to make sure that the medicine he prescribed wouldn't overpower an animal that size.

How many doctors of any sort would consult a book in your presence? That's tantamount to admitting they're not God. It's nice to meet a veternarian who is human. If Emo doesn't get well, I won't feel quite so betrayed because there wasn't a minor god who assured me that she would. He said, "This should help, but rats don't deal with pneumonia very well and it might not help enough in time."

It was all I asked for, and I appreciate it. I hope this works.
