so I know that I have a thing for desaturated colors.

I can't help it! it's like a DISEASE. a delightful, mellow disease. but i wish i knew how to use bright colors properly. everything that starts bright I end up desaturating in the finishing stages. why? WHYYYYYY? somebody save me from the greenish greys and low-key purples and dull reds that haunt my life!

Maybe you prefer the less intense colors of the visible light spectrum. Maybe you should flesh out the color scheme first, or maybe you just like combining colors in the ways that you do because they're pleasing to your eyes. Who knows at this point other than you.

Hmm... what color do you shade with?

But they are sooooo beautiful~!

Still, if you like... Maybe do you lovely desaturated arts, and then add little details and highlights with very light versions of the same color?

desaturated is love. trust me, explode-yer-eyes colors is not that great sometimes. at least desaturated colors are easy on the eyes. do what you like and fuck everyone else.

Desaturated colors WIN, damn it! I had the same 'problem' and generally still do, but it doesn't help me because my art style is better complimented with bright colors. I tried to work myself out of this by only working in HSV (or HSB, depending on the program) so I can directly edit the saturation, but I always get the urge to lower the saturation....

Oh no you don't want your work to end up looking like mine.. damaging your eyes and all that bad stuff. I love the colors you use.. I understand what your saying too. I can't draw anything in the soft muted colors. Whenever i do it looks like hell.
