Recently made a journal post about sega taking legal action against people who draw gay porn of their characters.
I kinda find this stupid. :s People have been doing it since what, 1996? Before that? Do they think they can catch every single person who has drawn Sega yaoi? I'm not saying it's impossible, but think about it. There are a lot of images out there, and it'll be almost impossible to nab the ones with no signature, and aren't connected to anyone in any way.
Then there are people who draw gay porn in the sega style (Sonic, for example). What does that mean for them? Would they want them to change their drawing style?
I mean, it's cool that they wanna protect their characters and all, but at the same time, they're fucking crazy to think they can completely stop it from happening. You make a character, you're gonna have to expect SOMEONE to make pornagraphic fanart. Some people are just like that.
Plus, think of the 2 or 3 Sonic Doujins out there. What will they do about
those?
This better be a load of BS, cuz it seems really stupid to me.

I dun do much yaoi but hell, is it really that much a problem? Everyone knows it's their characters, not like they're stealing them. o_o

Yeah there are more then 2 or 3, Ive seen some on websites...and theres probably some in conventions and stuff, But I'm not in on Yaoi or against it, I respect the people who like that stuff...but I doubt that Sega could actually do that, I mean, theres a lot of people doing that over the web, it seems almost impossible.

its really dumb.. but then there is the Disney, Warner Bros etc porn so if those companies have a fit.. x.x I think its impossible to stop people from drawing fanart porn, just like stopping people from downloading music off the internet.

I'm not a yaoi fan, but still, it's stupid, and eventually they'll lose money to paying lawyers and the lack of fans.

The way I see it is - If I had created 2 or more famous male characters who were supposed to be pals or whatever, and someone drew them in a gay (yaoi) picture on the internet... I would be so fucking pissed off. So although I feel Sega's pain on that, there's nothing they can do about it except to ask people to stop or just forget about it.

Sega already merged with Sammy, so they should have enough already.....prolly a yaoi/yuri hater and Sonic lover who started spreading rumors....if this was true, we'd see a news section about it on CNN or gamespot or something
