Touch-
Well, I finally got around to gettin' ones and I managed to add on another shop to list of those that have sold out of Nintendo DS Lites.
I still don't like Dual Screens, but Touching is totally not a gimmick...or at least not a bad one.
First game (and only one) I have right now is New Super Mario Brothers. It's fun (kinda), but definatly has some odd design issues. Such as the way it saves...I have to spend my gold stars or beat a castle inorder to save...wha? The levels are obviously designed for on the go play (being so dang short) but the overall game design really isn't (unless you like leavin' your DS in sleep mode a lot). I don't think Super Mario Bros. 3 will ever be topped. The level design isn't all too great, a strangely large amount of trial and error (although it's not like they don't throw enough green mushrooms at you anyway). The word New in the title pretty much means absolutely nothing. It's almost too retro for it's own good. It's still enjoyable for platformer fans (such as myself), but any site that gave this higher than an 8.5 is lyin' to themselves. (yeah, I'm lookin' at you Gamespot).
Okay, and now to talk about the sexy little Nintendo DS Lite and how it's honestly WAY better than the original (and made me buy it for said reasons).
1) D-pad and Buttons DON'T suck.
2) Design of handheld does not resemble something pulled out of 1985 landfill.
3) Brighter Screen + Longer Battery life = awesome
4) No real price difference (both are pretty much $129.99)
5) Touchscreen feels better for some reason...don't know why, but it does.
Sooo, if any of these problems prevented you from gettin' a DS sooner, DS Lite is the way to go...unless you think handheld gaming is garbage anyway (which in some instances, I agree).
The only problem you might have is (if you've owned a psp you'll know this problem too) the smudging...and wow...DSlite gets this all over (worse than the psp in my personal opinion).
Sorry if I seem so hyped about finally purchasing a handheld for myself (can't help it, it's just a really neat bit of technochocolate). This is the same way I felt when I first bought Megaman X for the Super Nintendo. I had done it. I saved up $50 all by myself, no birthdays, no loans, just runnin' around like an idiot, pickin' up quarters and dimes, and doin' chores (shut up, I was like, 8 something) all for the goal of one very, very awesome videogame.
...heh, wonder what Megaman ZX is gonna be like.
Agh, enough of this mindless school(gender) banter.
Art stuff, I got nothing, submitted porn to some website and that's about it. Tried drawing on paper, wow forgot how to do it. Can only seem to draw on computer. Aki mad. Technology steal soul. Make Aki dead on inside. Poop.
Yeah, and that's about it for today. Bai!

wicked, I've been toying with the idea of getting a DS but I'm a poor musician and I don't play video games that much anyways, so uh, yeah.

Once you beat the final boss in NSMB2, you can save anywhere.
It's a great incentive to find your way to all the warp cannons you can and go back and beat the rest of the levels later.
