June 10. Happy birthday to me, woo.
----
I've been hanging around the site a little, reading journals and seeing what everyone has been up to and I decided to let those interested get a feel for my latest project.
You know that art site I mentioned before, that everyone seemed to be squawking at... deeming me stupid for considering it, etc etc?
Well I talked with GoroUnreal last night about working it up, and its a very... VERY plausible idea.
Its called Project Indium. It will be an acceptance only art community. This means that you have to have 2 pieces to showcase to judge a few things to be allowed in. A few of these things will be:
---
Originality. If you can show that your ideas are different than others, attempt to go to the edge with your art, and reflect yourself and your personality, then you get a point for originality.
---
Talent. This isnt as big as the afore mentioned, because all artists can and will improve, but to have a fair amount of artistic talent is preferred.
---
Competitivity. You'll want to have a little bit of this for what I'm about to tell you next.
There will be no front page favorites, or featured picks. What is going to happen is there will be monthly PACKS of the very best art that came through the site the previous month. People will give you votes (creds) to get your art into the pack for that month, and at the end of the month, the moderators will review the votes and see if the art is good enough or not. If you submit an art piece later in the month, and it doesnt get a lot of creds because of how late it was submitted, it can still be considered by ways of time/cred ratios.
Each monthly pack, after its showcase month has passed, will still be linked on the front page in a list of packs from that year (so you will never be forgotten for making the pack, and can continously browse through previous packs.) And packs might have a theme as well. But thats something that we're still discussing.
Also, the community will be heavily forum based. Voice your opinions about other's art, advertise your art, discuss the latest pack, or just talk in general. Whatever.
But heres the kicker for all of those disapointed sheezy users lately....
Tasteful mature art is permitted, and encouraged. This doesnt necessarily mean drawing your characters having sex. But if you look at the rennaisance, full body nudity was a MOVEMENT. And I dont really think suggestive poses are all that horrible, anyways.
Dont worry about tiptoeing around with what you say. If you're accepted into the community, then chances are we think you're mature enough to speak your mind. So go ahead. Say what you mean and want to say.
Anyways, I hope you'll start thinking about Project Indium and if you have any questions about it, feel free to contact me at fahrennerheit on AIM, or ren_ner_@hotmail.com on MSN.
We are not in competition with SheezyArt. In fact, I'm encouraging that you have accounts at both. Get your art and name out better that way. :)
------
About SheezyQuilt-- I AM finishing it, actually. Not gonna let you down on that one. I dont know when, but I will submit it, and it will maybe be my last submission on this site.
About SheezyRadio-- I don't know. I was released from the club and everything, I'm guessing CC and spencer have taken over the radio. Ask them. :]
ANNNNDDddddd that about wraps it up.

I Love you guys. Take it easy.

happy b-day, how old are you now?

"This doesnt necessarily mean drawing your characters having sex."
(ex dee, there just in case)
But that's not to say you can't draw people having sex, right?
Happy birthday, btw.
Project Indium sounds amazing. I'll have to pick out two of my best pieces to be judged. D:! And 'yay' for mature artwork. I was never sure where the boarderline was for some of my art, and didn't submit a lot of newer drawings.
We'll really miss you here on Sheezy. </3

forgetreality Says:
So you're never gonna do a radio anymore? That'll be weird.
I like the idea of the site a lot, mainly the idea of having no frontpage and featured work, I love that idea.
Happy birthday again as well!
STFU its ATARI Says:
I like that idea alot :3
keicho Says:
today's is also my dad's bday
(no anime, and 100% original characters).
Anyway, i think its a great idea. Especially if you have gorounreal at your side. He is HELL tallented for html and javascript, so you shouldnt be afraid but be jumping out of joy. I will sign up right now and make an acc. It would be a good way to 'debut' my brand new style and some previews of the ultimate flash project in which ive been working lately
Cheers,
~kechin.

Happy birthday Renner!! :)
That art thing sounds like a good idea.
Oh, and about sheezy radio, it wont be the same without you. That's the only time I ever listened to it.

Sounds great, I'd love to join when it's ready.
