Alright folks. Some of you know me from way, way back. 2001-2004 back. That's awhile ago in internet land.
Some of you may remember when I did a sprite comic called CD Ron, based on Megaman. Heck, there are even a few pictures of the main characters in my gallery here;

So I actually did a lot of character development, and had a basic but long plot envisioned... then I basically gave up on sprite comics. However, recently I recieved a copy of Animation Magazine, and in it were 1/6th of a page ads for cartoon pitches. That was pretty neat.
What shocked me is that some of these pitches were... horrible. I could draw better than some, while others were just bad ideas. Others however were really great.
But it got me to thinking. And as I thought, I realized something. If I removed the Megaman element from the story... the story still remains quite strong. In fact, the entire Megaman universe is entirely unnecessary.
Imagine; a robot wakes up in the future, knowing nothing of his past, only that he has been offline for a long time, and is given the task of earning his keep for his owner. He takes a job as a coroner in a hospital, working as a coronor. He would like to do more, but he has been labeled to be obsolete. He is shunned by society, an outcast, a minority. He struggles through every day as newer models mock and redicule him.
Then, a major catastrophe happens. His home is burglarized, his master fatally wounded. He catches a glimpse of the killer as he gets away, and is shocked to see that it is familiar... it is his own. His master, in his dying breathes, tells the robot that he was one of it's creators, and that he was once a breakthrough in technology; but his story is hidden.
The robot digs, looking for his past. As a last gift, the master "unlocks" several dormant files, allowing the robot to get a start on his journey, and disabeling the safety locks on his programming. He finds his origional armour, well-maintained and well-armed in projectile weapons. He finds clues, old files detailing his development, and what lead to his project's cancellation. He learns that he is not the only one of his kind; a second prototype, a variant, was activated at the same time, while several other semi-assembled prototypes were in development, and later sold as Army Surplus. In order to piece together his past he must assemble his origional programming, by piecing together componants from the memories of his "brother units". Their locations hidden, the master had left clues in his music library; a playlist with songs which give subtle hints as to where one unit may be located.
Blah blah blah Red Cross Knight protocol yadda yadda Masujin = evil twin blah blah Robot Mk 88 = cyborg not robot etc. etc. etc.
... I've already started doodling design revisions. If I actually sat down and worked on this over a long period of time, this could actually be a fairly solid concept.
The Real Eggman Says:
Well I've been watching you for a while on sheezy now, But I don't know you at all, nor have I been watching you for THAT long. Personally I like your idea.... It would certainly be better than some of the crap I have to watch now.
