The Club Forum: What's the meaning of that wolf?

Gongji: What's the meaning of that wolf? - Oct 14th 2007, 1:06PM Link | Report

I always wondered what the whole idea was around the wolf. I never quite caught it and when I thought about it, maybe it was someone's alter-ego or something? Maybe Cloud or Zack, but I was never sure.
Never looked it up either

So if anyone else has another idea or theory, I'd like to hear it =)

I suggest it is the meaning of Cloud's loneliness and fright about his loved ones near him. The wolf is often symbolized as a lonnely predator. Like...And at the end, after Cloud defeated Sephiroth, we see the wolf dissapear, symbolizing, that Cloud accepted the help of others, defeated his long lost enemy, and freed his heart from the burden of everything he had on his mind. Especially, he understood that he hadnt ever had to apologize to Aeris or be forgiven, she is such a sweet angel, she wants Cloud's happiness...

Lmao I was thinking about the real wolf that would appear occasionally, but you made me think of something. The wolf must have something to do with Cloud. Isn't it on his left nipple? That's closest to his heart =O

I didn't know it disappeared =/ I must have missed that somehow O_o
But my gosh, you sure got one hell of a point there! They do always call wolves the lone predator. You could also say that Cloud, at the end, finally broke free from the habit that was destroying himself, which is to remain alone and ponder, ponder, ponder about all kinds of stuff that he forgot those around him and what they in turn wanted to do for him.
