Shadixx: What's your I.Q.? - Jun 19th 2007, 3:53PM Link | Report
Just wondering who else knows what their I.Q. is.
The average human has an I.Q. of 100.

My I.Q. is 171.

Most people won't know their real IQs. They're only administered for clinical purposes and special placements for young children.

Well I did a MENSA test when I was eleven, and got 152, so Im guessing slightly higher than that now, since it was 3 years ago, and Ive learned a lot more stuff since then.

IQ is hardly considered a measure of intelligence, any more, even though a low IQ is still required to have the status of legally retarded.

It may soud harsh, but having much knowledge doesn't raise your IQ. Insight however, does. So the fact that you've learned a lot more stuff doesn't raise your IQ, because insight is something you can't learn.

Oh yeah, according to a test from tv my IQ is 140, but that just can't be right

Tv tests are never accurate xD I hope haha.

Traditional IQ tests aren't an accurate measure of learning ability. However, they do offer insight as to cognitive thought processes and as another user mentioned, insight. Also, wagging around your IQ pene is as masturbatory as doing the same with SAT scores or any other measure of intelligence.

IQ isn't to do with your knowledge, it's to do with your intelligence. You don't really get more intelligent over time, just more knowledgable. So really after your developmental years your IQ should remain pretty much the same :]

Exactly. It doesn't measure what you know; it measures how your brain processes. That's why we have them for different age groups and there are different sections to measure different processes.

And SAT/ACT scores have nothing to do with IQ, as I learned embarassingly in my psychology class when I confused the two and the teacher corrected me publically. @.@

Honestly? I once took a test. That didn't include searching for stupid shapes that fit together how you see it in online tests, but a lot of different other stuff. It was a professional test. BUT that was about 3 years ago, meaning I was about 17 back then - a teenager. So I dunno how it is now but back then my IQ was 116.
