9BaKa NEKO9: Thoughts On The Word 'Sit' - May 11th 2007, 11:37PM Link | Report
“‘Don’t make me say it.’, she says. ‘SIT!’ Why in the seven hells ‘sit’?” The hanyou fingered the rosary around his neck, it was cold and smooth in his palm. To most who didn’t know him, it just looked like some seemingly harmless necklace. Seemingly would be the key word here. He sighed and steadily shrunk to the floor of Kaede’s hut.
“Why sit? Why? It’s just so…” his hands crept up to his oddly placed ears. “So… degrading. And I bet she thinks it’s so funny, too. Damn that girl…” He sighed again. Sighing was starting to become more of a pastime to him lately, ever since things began getting a little too complex. For better or worse, he wasn’t entirely sure yet.
Now that he and Kagome were officially… dating, did that change their previous relationship? And now that they were… dating, why couldn’t poor InuYasha bring up the ‘sit’ dilemma? She did say that she could never hate him, and talking to her about his problem with the curse would be too miniscule a matter to hate him over, right? “Gods, she’s reduced me to a watered down, spineless wimp!”
“And, you know what? I bet Kikyo wouldn’t have used ‘sit’. Hell, I don’t think even Sesshomaru would’ve used ‘sit’! Every time she says it, it’s like she’s… she’s… ripping out every last shred of my dignity and throwing it in a puddle of mud and stomping all over it and… dropping a nuke on it or somethin’!” He noticed a harsh growl leave his lips, but he tried to keep it quiet. Everyone else was still asleep.
“Damn! ‘Don’t make me say it’?! Half the time I don’t! Big flippin’ deal you can’t cook for shit! You don’t need to take it out on me! And at least I’m honest. You know I’m not, and never EVER will be, the kinda guy who says, ‘no, dear, you don’t look fat in that at all,’ when in reality, you’re wearing a tube top while you’re pregnant!” This time the growl was a little louder. He heard Kagome moan. He held his breath as he observed her. She stirred and curled up in a ball, then drifted back to sleep. A nervous blush slowly dissipated from InuYasha’s face as he let out a breath of air.
“Now… where was I? Somethin’ about pregnancy…ew… why would I be thinking about that? Yeah, I’m honest. Brutally honest? Maybe, but I’m honest. I guess it’s just because I’m sick of lying. I’m no good at it…” He crossed his arms over his bare chest and pondered what the next logical thing to mentally rant about would be.
“I let you abuse me, Kagome. I let you take advantage of me, take me for granted. I let you confuse me and use my own emotions against me… and, of course, I let you ‘sit’ me. I have nothing but my personal thoughts and I bet you want to take that away from me, too. Maybe you already have and I’m just too confused to notice.” He caressed her cheek and tangled his claws in her raven hair, gazing at the soft features of her sleeping form with heartrending eyes.
“So why do I let you? It’s so stupid… I guess it’s ‘cause…” He leaned closer to her face and gently kissed her. The words, “I love you,” gingerly slid off of his lips as he playfully nibbled at her ear.
“I love you, too…” Kagome murmured, half-asleep.
“I’ll tell her how I feel when she’s up…” He grabbed the necklace again. “Maybe she’ll take them off. She says she hates to see me sad, right?” He released the beads and nuzzled Kagome’s neck, idly planting kisses here and there. “On the other hand, I like it when she uses ‘sit’ while we’re…” InuYasha smirked. He felt better after hearing she loved him. He liked having the reassurance, just in case. It made him feel needed, which isn’t too common for half-breeds, unless they’re being needed by a hungry demon.
He got under Kagome’s blanket and cuddled with his partially clad bed mate. She tugged at his hakama.
“Not now, I’m thinking.”
“About what?”
“Uh… hey, Kagome?”
She cracked one stormy eye open. “Hmmm?”
He chuckled lightly. “Never mind. Go back to sleep.”
