Contests Forum: January 18- 25 Contest

renner: January 18- 25 Contest - Jan 18th 2006, 8:22PM Link | Report
Take an everyday inanimate object (bottle, pencil, book, etc) and give it life.

POINTS WILL BE COUNTED BY:
-originality of the object
-smoothness of the animation
-music fitting the submission

You have 4 days to complete your animation. :)

The first ten entries (entries linked in THIS THREAD) recieved by 7PM Eastern on Saturday will be entered in the contest, and you will be able to vote on the winner via the poll.

GOOD LUCK!!

You can use any animation program. :) Just make sure you can include music.

You know what? Music is a bonus, but you can be exempt as long as the animation makes up for it. And I mean like a really smooth animation. So yeah whatever works.

Is there a limit to the amount of inanimate objects we give life to?

We'd like to keep the focus on only one object.

I suppose technically popcorn is a seed, therfore alive, therefore not inanimate, just very slow. But it doesn't usually dance, so I hope it's ok.

Also, is it ok that I made it 3 months ago, and it just happened to fit with the contest?

Usually for contests you have to create a peice specifically for it. Think of this sort of like an animation drill, something to do for practice, so recycling something sort of defeats the purpose.

Fair enough. I may have time to do something for the contest then, we'll see.
